Fox News Pundit Compares Slavery to Plane Crashes in Absurd Rant Against Smithsonian

A Fox News pundit went on an unhinged rant likening the history of slavery in America to plane crashes Sunday while defending President Donald Trump’s attacks on the Smithsonian Institution.

The president raged this week that the museum complex dwells on “how horrible our Country is, how bad slavery was,” instead of celebrating “brightness.”

Speaking on his show Media Buzz on Sunday, host Howard Kurtz said Trump “had to know that using that phrase about slavery would spark an enormous backlash.”

“I think he’s right,” Fox News contributor Clay Travis responded.

Clay Travis needs to be unemployed. The price of stupidity is expensive, and he is about to learn what it is.

There is nothing wrong with what Travis said. His point was clear and honest. Do I really need to explain it to you?

Sad thing is I bet most Trumpers here agree with Travis and I also bet most of them, by a long shot, have never been to the National Museum of African American History and Culture

American education is all about producing proud, loyal citizens, not informed critical thinkers.

There are factual inconsistencies with what he said. The Air and Space Museum does in fact mention the tragedies along the way in our exploration of Air and Space.
Are accidents and failures the focus of the museum or are they mentioned in the context of the overall success of American air and space exploration?

They are a part of the museum and their focus is the history of Air and Space exploration of which the failures are a part of. Guess what the focus of the African American Museum of History and Culture is focused on.

Are you suggesting bad history be ignored?

Nor would they ever go.

The fact of the matter is, commemoration is boring and critical analysis is interesting and educational.

Its just that simple.

One would see slavery AND Chuck Berry's Cadillac.

I dont know, I havent been there. But I think its focus should not be on slavery but on the positive aspects of black achievement and culture in this country in spite of the obstacles blacks have faced.

Yes, there is.

He's an ass-kissing sycophant. Trump IS WRONG.

DO NOT defend those who have their head up Trump's ass.

It's a museum. Deal with it.

Obstacles like.....slavery. Yes. We can certainly keep light on America's slaver past, how the Confederacy fought to preserve the system and lost, and the long fight African American people had and still have against racists and a system with inherent barriers for the success of minority groups, and the progress we've been able to achieve in spite of all of this.
