A majority of Americans say President Trump is most responsible for the ongoing partial government, according to a new poll from Fox News.

The survey, which was conducted with the help of Beacon Research and released on Wednesday, found that 51 percent of registered voters think Trump bears the most responsibility for the shutdown.

The poll is probably fairly reasonable (recognizing that I have little faith in polling myself nowadays) since Mr. Trump has "self-declared" ownership of the shutdown arguing to get money for the wall.

That, coupled with the MSN's constant railing against his policy coupled with the fact that several hundred thousand "non-essential" Federal employees are either "on furlough" or working without pay, such numbers seem valid.

I guess the opposite numbers (49%) either don't blame him or are unsure who to blame is also something to take note of. :coffeepap:

I was curious about that too. From the Fox article on the poll:

51 percent majority says the president indeed is responsible for the shutdown, while 34 percent blame congressional Democrats, 3 percent blame congressional Republicans, and 9 percent blame all of the above.

In the poll taken on 1/13/19, 53% blamed Trump for the shutdown and 29% blamed democrats. This poll shows 51% blame Trump and 34% blame dems. Seems to me that the conclusion to draw from this is that the polls are tightening. As for approval ratings, how do Trumps ratings compare with those of congress right now?
