Fox News last week fell into third place during primetime in the coveted advertising demographic of 25-54 year-old viewers, the first time it had done so in 17 years, as rival network MSNBC surged into first place.
Adweek reported that last week was the first time that Fox finished third among cable-news networks in the coveted demo since June 2000, when the right-leaning network was still in its infancy.[/FONT

According to Nielsen, MSNBC led the three cable networks between 8-11 p.m., averaging 611,000 viewers between the ages of 25 and 54, while dominating with 2,440,000 viewers overall. CNN came in second with 589,000 in the coveted demographic, while remaining in third in total viewers with 1,649,000. Fox slid to to third with 497,000 viewers in the demo, and 2,405,000 overall.
Going forward, Fox News is in deep doo-doo as it's average viewer is old...like well into their 60's.
Fox News maybe in danger of literally having it's viewers die out unless they radically change the way they present the news.

I do indeed think you're on to something, here! :thumbs:Political Controversy sells, plain and simple. Fox News made a killing during the Obama era because they were constantly finding and every reason to grill the Obama administration. Along with that, fringe sites like Briebart and Infowars was able to blossom in that chaotic fire. Now CNN and MSNBC will see that kind of growth by roasting the Trump administration.

Gee that is a shame. :lamo

Got some stats?
Problem is, Fox can't keep this audience forever. Its core audience is old, white and conservative, and America is becoming more multicultural and progressive. While Fox News was number one among cable news outlets in the all-important 25-to-54 year-old demographic last year, the demo only accounts for 19% of its audience.
The median age of the average primetime Fox News viewer is 68 -- five years older than MSNBC, and nine years older than CNN. Meanwhile, 92% of Fox News viewers are white, according to Nielsen. By contrast, MSNBC's audience is 67% white, while CNN's is 73% white.
Firing Bill O'reilly wasnt going to be inconsequential.
Of-course their viewership would decline

Agreed.
Further, now that Murdock's more liberal sons have taken over operations, and that too is having it's impact.
Perhaps Fox news will go brain damaged liberal like all the rest, and watch their ratings fall below MSNBC, as the conservatives on Fox migrate to another network, possibly / probably a new one, taking all their viewership with them.

Just want you to know I am in my 70's and have never watched Fox although I have tuned in from time to time just to see how they would reports certain news. I know I am in the minority for the most viewers, but I am glad to see them being taken down a peg or two. There is hope yet for truth in journalism!
I'm curious as to what "journalism" you view as being unbiased?
MSM but no cable news.
so that would be....
Yes, I certainly agree, although I believe CNN is more center than either FOX or MSNBC. They've aired a lot of Town Hall meetings with guest Republicans.
The one thing I don't see from MSNBC or CNN is the common practice at FOX of resorting to character attacks and lies. Wow, and MSNBC certainly has a lot of ammo, if they wanted to do so - LockerMSNBC attacks Trump's policies, not his character.
