FOX News destroys Fred Phelps' daughter on the air

Why do I find your story very hard to believe? Democratic Headquarters? Yeah, right!
Well yea, there isn't any place that isn't more democratic than the democrat headquarters! (thats my motto and noone else's)

I heard something about that now that you mention it. It may well be that they are trying to play both sides for influence, either way these people are sick and very bad for this country.

There's no playing both sides. The entire Phelps clan has been prominent Democrats for decades. Hell, the leader got 15,000 votes in the Democratic primary in Kansas.

Oh she is conservative alright, ultra conservative but still a r-wing extremist and I'll bet my life that she doesn't contribute to the democratic party nor yourself unless you are one of them!

You are completely and utterly misinformed. 15 seconds of research would do you well.

I haven't a clue as to which party they support or have supported in the past. Nor do I care.

But their views come across to me as about as hard core rightwing extremist as one can possibly get without blowing things up.

But in all fairness, the conservative right denounces them as loudly as any one else does. When one cannot prevent a fringe element from hitching their wagon to their particular party, I don't think the party in and of itself should be held accountable.

Many people would like to say that the Moore's and the Churchill's and the Chomsky's speak for the left/liberal/democrats'etc, but that is just as whack as saying that the Phelps represents the right/conservative/republicans. Yet they do it just the same.

Anybody can endorse one party over the other one and there is nothing the party can do but denounce them. They can't stop them.

But I would suggest that if the hard righties who insist on equating all lefties to the aforementioned, then they should be prepared to be equated to the Phelps. Two wrongs don't make a right but it should be expected as turnabout is fair play.

That was embarassing....for Fox. It was a step down for them, IMO. That was not something that I would ever expect from any sort of "news" program. I've seen this sort of slapfest on other networks (CNN, for example) but never to that low of a level. Wow, amazing. I agree with those who say that it didn't destroy her, quite the contrary....it did more damage to Fox than her! You couldn't even understand 75% of what was being said (yelled) by either of them because neither of them had the common courtesy to allow the other to finish a sentence.

Why is anyone giving this woman any air time? Unless they want to promote her agenda, I see no reason to have her on at all.

Who cares whether these people are right wing or left wing? You give them more importance than they deserve. They are in their own little world. I suspect that they will use anybody to gain exposure for their agenda. Shame on Fox (and any other network) for giving that to them.

They deserve to be ignored. Let the patriot riders take care of 'em.

I wish they were in the studio together for that interview and got into a cat fight. I would enjoy watching the Phelps beotch tear the clothes off of the reporter. Now THAT would be prime time baby!

Fox Gone Wild!

A friend of mine tells me that MSNBC had this bitch on too, and the exact same thing happened. Did anyone see this?

and yet, Fox's ratings grow.

Careful....

In other words, Fox has a more loyal audience that watches for longer periods of time — what advertisers want. Yet CNN commands a larger pool of casual viewers who tune in for key news moments.

The best example of that was Hurricane Katrina. During September, when people tuned in to get news of the disaster, decidedly more people chose to get it from CNN – 100 million unique viewers, the highest viewership among all the cable channels.6

Not only that, CNN’s prime time audience more than doubled in that month (an increase of 168%) and its daytime audience more than tripled (210%) from what it was in August. Fox News’s audience, on the other hand, saw only 35% growth in prime time from its August figure, and 106% growth in daytime. During September, indeed, CNN’s ratings – not just cumulative audience – actually exceeded those for Fox News.7

that was actually comical. I thought the fox news lady was going to start crying--she had to resort to "you are going to hell" to combat what the Phelps wacko was saying. I wacthed it again, and it truly was an embarrassment for fox. Not a victory, and she definately DID NOT DESTROY her by any means.

Nest time have someone a bit less emotional interview that biatch..

I can't blame the woman who did the interview, it's like trying to communicate with people here sometimes, you just lose it, and end up looking just as angry, just as ridiculous. That said, I don't think this hurts Fox at all, I wish they would distance themselves more from the loons on the religious right. I can't believe what I am hearing from some of the liberals here, those who often suggest that sometimes there are not two sides to a story, just the right side, and now they criticize that very example here, I suspect because it's "Fox" that did so.

I understand the frustration she had, talking to that low life, but she is a professional journalist, presumably. She needs to act as such.
What do you mean? what repsonses made you think that here?

One thing about the cable news networks that turns me off is all the yelling and screaming on their shows. It's annoying and gets tired really quick, but i'm sure it brings in the viewers.
