Fox News analyst Jim Pinkerton suggested on Monday that Al Jazeera’s new American television network might have an editorial policy that was supportive of “killing Americans and so on” because he said that was what most Arabs wanted. In preparation for Al Jazeera America’s Aug. 20 launch, Fox News host Jon Scott noted during a Monday segment that “some charged” that the network’s Middle East counterpart “gave a voice to terrorists.”
“But what about the editorial side of it?” Scott asked Pinkerton. “I mean, Al Jazeera, many people saw it as a mouthpiece for Osama bin Laden because that was the channel that regularly aired his diatribes right after 9/11.”
“Well, I think there’s something to that,” Pinkerton agreed. “But look, they’re an Arab news channel, and let’s face it, many — if not most — Arabs probably support what bin Laden was trying to do in terms of killing Americans and so on. The polls from the Pew Center certainly show that.”
In fact, a Pew Research poll found that Muslim confidence in bin Laden declined sharplybetween 2003 and 2011. By that time, only 13 percent of Jordanians and 18 percent of Pakistanis supported the terrorist mastermind.

Soo apparently some still believe Al-Jazeera supports terrorism because they report news on terrorism... ****ing pathetic. :doh

Of course, there's that stingy fact about what he said. He's right.

I don't listen to al-jazeera. They are a devious news site with an agenda. It's a bit smarter than MSNBC and Fox since they don't flat out push their agenda. But steadily and surely, they have goals. It's like RT. It's fair and balanced the first time you look at it. You like, you get drawn in... and 2 years later you accept everything they say as truth because they seem fair and balanced, when in fact, they're pushing an agenda.

It's like the 1degree arc math story.
You draw a straight line. Then, from the same point of origin, you draw another line at 1degree difference from it. At first, the 2 lines are basically identical. but as you draw further and further away, the difference between the straight line and the line that is phased by 1 degree starts to show. That's al jazeera. it's a 1degree line. So is RT for the most part.
Unlike Fox and MSNBC which are 90degree angles on opposite spectrums.

I dont watch it.
I also dont do business at middle eastern owned businesses if I can avoid it at all.

Well THAT will show those terrorists! Course that is like not going to the black owned business because of the New Black Panthers...

I doubt more than 6 non Muslim Americans will ever watch at the same time, but that doesn't matter. al-Jazeera will be quoted repeatedly and it's reporting will find it's way into Western News cycles routinely.

I do find it interesting someone thinks the Arab news outlet is a master of the 1* arc and the slick and savvy USofA ones are bafoons in comparison...

Where do you think that money you spend at the hadji marts goes?

Professional jealousy. Al Jazeera produces real news. Fox is just an ugly propanganda machine for the tea party, with pseudojournalists pretending to provide information.

Ummm supporting his family and paying other Americans for their goods thus putting money in other good ol' boys pockets- not to mention taxes.

But using your ahhhh 'logic' the money I spend at black businesses goes where???? :doh

I know much of that money goes "back home". I know some owners.

I love it! After 9-11 one thing BushII's team did was scrutinize ANY shipments of money to the ME from the USofA. 'much' is an interesting word, says nothing but hints a lot. IF you knew anything about retail you'd know 'much' of the money we hand a store owner goes to keeping the doors open and the lights on. IF you did any business at the retail level you'd know only a small fraction of the money we hand a retailer is profit.

SOME of that profit MAY go to family 'back home', but you 'knowing' some owners and your refusal to do any business with them seems rather contradictory. (You don't sound like a fun loving guy toward such store owners) :peace

I do about 140K a month retail. Any other questions?

You don't even have Fox News in England, so how on earth would you know?

I believe you have Sky News, owned by the same people. But not Fox News.

No wonder Britain remains a civilized nation.

Their fame has spread far and wide, and insdeed they are available in digestible chunks on cable and on Sky in the UK. Even in small chunks it's crap. It's my personal belief the Sky only show it to malke themselves look good.

Steady! I live here! It's relative.

Even your worst conservatives look like TS Eliot compared to our knownothing Fox-watching tea party nitwits (and Eliot wasn't even British!).

Well, this is a perfect example of why you should stay out of American domestic matters, because now you have egg on your face.

You've been caught red-handed bashing Fox News, when you know perfectly well that Fox News isn't shown where you live, and you've in fact never spent any amount of time watching it.

American liberals hate it because it's a right-leaning cable news station.

Now, don't get me wrong.... Al Jazeera spreading its network to other parts of the world does concern you and I'd be interested in hearing your take on that. However, given that they don't show Fox where you live, you'd do well to refrain from making comments about that station.

Send home? It stays right here.

Awww how cute, another Con Quibbler!

Now just how much of the 140K is disposable like the 'much' you claim the Muslim stores can afford to not put back into keeping the doors open?

What sort of retail do you engage in that 'much' of the money customer's hand over can be diverted from paying bills, taxes, and overhead?

YOU claim a small store can send 'much' of the money a customer hands over goes 'back home', back it up.... :2wave:

Do the math. Every gas station around here is ME owned, except for 7/11. Thats alot of stores.
Heck just on the closest main road here there are 4 in under one mile.
Add to that every beverage store, taxi service and dump truck operation.
They hire nothing but family they bring over and dont pay them crap. Defend them all you want, I know better.

Which part of Fox News being shown on Sky did you not get? How cretinous does one need to be to take the opposite meaning from what was said? You just egged all over yourself. Here's a tip. You would dio well not to prepare your clincher before you see the response to your set-up.
AJ news is far more evenhanded and trustworthy than even liberal Americans will allow. Others will not watch it on ignorant "principle"
