In adults 25-54 demo Maddow beat Kelly, Matthews beat Greta,O'Donnell tied with Hannity.

Fox News Channel’s primetime lineup debuted last night. The channel’s one new primetime program, “The Kelly File,” debuted to 2.07 million total viewers and 289,000 viewers in the adults 25-54 demo.

That placed the program second in the demo behind MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show,” which averaged 299,000 demo viewers and 997,000 total viewers. CNN’s Piers Morganaveraged 530,000 total viewers and 145,000 demo viewers.

In fact, MSNBC also topped FNC in the demo at 7 PM and tied FNC in the demo at 10 PM, with 8 PM stalwart “The O’Reilly Factor” remaining the most-watched cable news program in both total and demo viewers.

At 7 PM, “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” averaged 1.93 million total viewers and 359,000 demo viewers in her new timeslot. On MSNBC “Hardball” with Chris Matthewsaveraged 1.20 million total viewers and 377,000 demo viewers. CNN’s “Erin Burnett Outfront” averaged 505,000 total viewers and 140,000 demo viewers.

At 8 PM, “The O’Reilly Factor” averaged 2.59 million total viewers and 415,000 demo viewers. “All in with Chris Hayes” averaged 920,000 total viewers and 329,000 demo viewers, and “AC360″ averaged 637,000 total and 163,000 demo viewers.

At 10 PM, “Hannity” averaged 1.52 million total viewers and 251,000 demo viewers in his new timeslot, “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” averaged 923,000 total and 251,000 demo viewers and “AC260 Later” averaged 392,000 total and 128,000 demo viewers.

Compared to Q3 2013, all three channels saw significant double-digit ratings gains, likely driven by coverage of the government shutdown.

Or out another way, all three fox shows had more viewers. Showing once again, stories can be presented in multiple ways and imply multiple different things depending on what parts of the facts a person decides to focus on and highlight

Or more people that watch Fox are working people working longer harder or at second jobs. Rather than sit around listening to the America haters on MSNBC like Matthews, Maddow and Burnett.

That's very true, however I believe the 25-54 demo is the cream looked at by advertisers. Nobody is gong beat Fox when it comes to total viewers. Also, these ratings show that MSNBC is not quite as bad a people want to believe.

That's a ridiculous partisan assertion.

If you were pitching advertisers on MSNBC, you might have a point. But to say that they beat out Fox just because their viewers are younger is a silly thing to try to pass off. Younger people can be more liberal and might be more inclined to wath MSNBC, older people tend to be more conservative and are more inclined to watch Fox.

Besides, even when it comes to advertising, Fox news has a lock on the boner pills, adult diapers, underground bunkers & survival kits commercials.

That's a ridiculous partisan assertion.

Did you expect any less? Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to sit around and wait for my welfare check to arrive....

LMAO!!!

The Liberal agenda for America in one post.."Hey! We're not as everybody thinks we are."

Bull. If you did the math, that demo totaled just over 10% of viewership. This is just you being blindly partisan, as usual. Funny when you accuse it of others.

It's not Bull, advertisers care about the demographics of the viewers. Why would advertisers care if adolescents watch Fox News? TVNEWSER breaks out the 25-54 demo for a reason.

Seems like you care just a little bit more. Of course, were the shoe on the other foot, you'd denounce the numbers.

Typical blind hyper-partisanship.

Do you project much?

It's not projecting. It's observation. It's why you hang out in the Bias forum for 99% of your stay. You can get away with your partisan crap here. Anywhere else, you're called out for being the moveon/MSNBC parrot you are. There's nothing you say or do I can't get from a double-digit IQ, loudmouth, clueless hyper-liberal blogger.

It's projection whether you like it or not, you simply will not admit it. I suppose you are not a partisan, right?

Nope. I hate both MSNBC and Fox, and think that anyone who watches either religiously is an idiot.

Bet you can't say the same.

What and idiotic thing to say.

For once you are correct, I'm not that stupid.

For once you are correct, I'm not that stupid.

Yea, that was "and idiotic" thing to say.

That's why you're a dismissed hyper-partisan. Anyone who thinks that, between Fox and MSNBC, one is legit and one is not is immediately discredited due to opinions made under their own volition.

You got that right... Here are the numbers for that night:

I like to compare things to baseball.

Here's your position in baseball terms:

"Sure we lost. Heck, they scored twice what we did but that third inning......it was all us baby!!"

That's dumb, that isn't my position at all. It looks to me like MSNBC is making money, just not as much as Fox is making. They aren't losers

Out of curiosity, in your world what is the opposite of "winner"?

Demo beats alll viewers where it counts, advertiser rates. I'd rather have 100,000 viewers 24-40 than 200,000 viewers 65-70. Fox skews older, hence the non stop bladder catheder and Pat Boone walk in bath tub commercials.

Out of curiosity, in your world is it a good thing to be earning money even though it may not be as much as your competitor?
