This may be the best way to prevent gun violence aside from the obvious. Reporting suspicious or illegal activity to the police.

FBI: Arrests near Coors Field not threat to ASG

Four people have been arrested on drug and illegal weapons charges at a downtown Denver hotel close to Coors Field, but the FBI says it has "no reason to believe" the suspects posed a threat to the upcoming MLB All-Star Game.

What's the maximum sentence for illegal possession in France?

Here, illegal possession can get you 10 years in prison. Compared to drunk driving, I'd say that falls into the "ass is grass" category.

Why's that the key word? Do you have any facts suggesting that people in the US actually do get shorter sentences for illegal possession than they do in France?
 
From the article, it sounds more drug related than mass shooting related.

Mass shooters are typically lone wolfs.

Another excerpt says "Denver mayor Michael Hancock and police Chief Paul Pazen praised the hotel's staff for alerting authorities and sought to ease any concerns that the area around the ballpark is unsafe."

So where are all these Vegas shootings coming from? Trying to stir something maybe? Or just disappointed?

That's not the question or even the premise of your post. You SEEM to have it on good authority they were going to shoot into the all star game and create another Vegas.
 
If this was a drug cartel thing then I hope that maid doesn't end up decapitated and thrown in a ditch somewhere.
