As opposed to allowing the mentally deranged to buy guns? Don't bitch when they use them then.
My comment wasn't necessarily directed at the thought of allowing Mentally Deranged people buying guys.
Mine was to the effect that everyone in the US should have one (with exceptions)
The "exceptions" are what we have been discussing.
If everyone in that classroom had a gun. Do you think he would have made it as far as he did?
No, then we would have minor's killing people for cheating on them or a teacher's bad grade. You find that preferable do you?
I believe everyone should be required to own, maintain, and be trained to use a pistol. That way we're all on the same playing field with the wackos.
I've been discussing how the bureaucrats allow these exceptions to slip through the cracks.
If you look back you will see my comment was directed at Caine's statement, not yours.
Why not just not allow known wackos not to buy guns, instead of providing them the means for mass murder?
Well clearly that isn't working.
It isn't working because the background checks do not require this type of info.
That is the deficiency that has been exposed by these wackos being able to legally purchase guns.
Really? If you have a history of mental illness, especially litigation concerning a mental illness, it goes on your record and is accessible via a background check.
Didn't work in the case of Hassan or Cho did it? They both had a history of mental problems of a violent nature that were not required to be reported to the background check database.
Cho had this information on his criminal record, and Hasan was raising flags for the FBI. It's not like the information was just magically lost until after the fact.
I am not sure. I want the full investigation done, before I declare anything.
Pure. Genius.
