dieselswould be a better idea for vans, but ford has made turbo diesel v8 vans for years, and the diesel v-8s got extreme power and economy, yet they mostly pushed the v-6 and v8 gas models.the worst being the v6 van that gets worse mpg than the v8,because the v6 struggles the whole time to move that weight.

i dont like the idea of the unibody move though,gm and dodge have used unibodies in their vans for a long time and have suffered problems with their unibody frames twisting and distorting due to unibodies not bing able to handle the true load of a truck, yet they sold them as a vehicle to handle the load of a truck.

eh, IDK, the damn things are useful and they hold up forever if properly taken care of. Sometimes its best not to mess with a good thing. People and businesses are not buying these vehicles based on looks or social status. they are buying them because they use them for their work. If Ford can produce a van that does the same workload (or better) and can be more efficient without being more expensive to buy, then they are making the right move. If they are doing it to keep up with the joneses of the auto industry feeling the need to make a change for the sake of change, while sacrificing cost by increasing the cost (if that makes sense) and decreasing capability for efficiency which at best is a wash, then it's not a good move on their part.
