And you can now give the election in Tennessee to John Corker. Ford had made it a close one, and was even slightly ahead, until this allegation came out. You can argue all day that it is a Republican dirty trick, but they didnt put a gun to Ford's head and make him go to that Playboy party, did they? Whether it was wrong for Ford to attend the party or not is immaterial. In a very Conservative state like Tennessee, what Ford did was stupid. He is now going to pay for that stupidity.

Article is here.

That bastard, how dare he go to the Playboy mansion, lol, a non issue to me, but perhaps not to those in Tenn.

He probably enjoyed looking at all those boobs too, what sort of a world do we live in where someone can't express their sexuality to any degree.

We are not talking about the world. We are talking about Tennessee, and that state has their idea of moral values, just as California has its own idea, Florida has its own idea, etc.

I am not posting about whether it is right or wrong to go to a Playboy mansion. I am posting on how stupid it was to go there, considering the moral climate of the state Ford lives in. If he wanted to be a Senator, this is something he should have considered.

A native Tennessean, but I've been away from Tennessee for quite a while, but return there for a couple of weeks every year to get my accent renewed. Therefore, I feel comfortable in predicting that with that admission, John Ford ensured his election. He admitted it. More importantly, he made the admission with a 'whats the big deal' and 'so what'? attitude.

IMO, the "moral climate" of Tennessee ain't what it used to be. Thank goodness.

But I could be wrong! We'll see if the admission solidifies opposition or gains admirers for his openness.

Yes, Tennessee... they just won't accept that hot women evolved from bunnies. Ask Clarence Darrow.

Understood, but I think what you posted is a little outside the "Scopes" of this topic. Sorry, just had to say it. You can kick me now. :)

the idiot lost it long before this happened. his family history in politics, and in the public eye for that matter, is a complete joke.

watch hannity and colmes tonight. they are gonna have a tape of his daddy that will give you an idea of what im talking about.

and jr. showed up at a Corker press conference last week and made an *** of himself as well.

I can assure you he has seen tons of boobs. his family is full of them.

Ya this'll probably hurt his chances, as will Bob Corker's "Harold Ford is an uppity negro who bangs white chicks" television ad.

Too bad. Harold Ford seems like a good guy, and Bob Corker is a slimeball.

LMAO. a good guy huh?

the apple doesnt fall far from the tree. his uncle has been caught on tape cursing out police officers. he has chased people with a shotgun. and his daddy refers to white folks as "crackers"

as soon as Corker calls jr a nig-ger, I will agree hes a slimeball.

and im basing my opinion of jr on facts from the local news as I live in a suburb of Memphis, TN.

not to mention jr. crashed a Corker press conference last week. he showed up unanounced and uninvited to try and intimidate Corker in front of the cameras. it clearly backfired and may (hopefully) cost him the election.
what exactly are you basing your "slimeball" characterization of Corker on?

I hope you have a better argument than "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree." No? Then shut up.

That's essentially what he did in his latest ad. The entire point of it was "Harold Ford bangs white chicks."

Then surely you have a better reason to dislike him than "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

Just the way that he's conducted his campaign. It shows that he's petty, mean-spirited, and willing to say anything to win.

it will be good enough for TN.

That's essentially what he did in his latest ad. The entire point of it was "Harold Ford bangs white chicks."

B.S. ive seen the add. it had absolutely NOTHING to do with race. and I was unaware that was a Corker add. I thought it was an independent add???

Then surely you have a better reason to dislike him than "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

sure. hes a liberal. but the apple still doesnt fall far from the tree.

no to mention crashing his oponents press conference and acting like a little thug. hes acted this way before on the floor of the house too I believe.

Just the way that he's conducted his campaign. It shows that he's petty, mean-spirited, and willing to say anything to win.

I have seen adds HE ENDORSED that say hes from TN, and has lived in TN all his life. Went to UT. while Ford has had a full political life, went to school in PA, and inherited a life of politics.

ALL TRUE STATEMENTS.

so was the add you mentioned one Corker endorsed? or was it from a seperate organization?

I have actually heard Corker call for the REMOVAL of such adds. something I dont believe jr. has agreed with.

http://www.bobcorkerforsenate.com/video.tb1.aspx

funny, I dont see that add on Corkers site. Clearly he does NOT endorse that add.

how did a racist like Corker get blacks to appear in his adds?

http://www.bobcorkerforsenate.com/video.tb1.aspx?video=commercial19

not a lie in that add anywhere. everything said about Jr. is absolutely fact.

and FINALLY the absolute truth about Corker and his response to the add you mentioned.

http://www.bobcorkerforsenate.com/News/Default.aspx?Article=152

“Within an hour of seeing the ad for the first time, our campaign publicly denounced it and issued a press release calling for it to be pulled,” said U. S. Senate Candidate Bob Corker. “The ad is tacky, over the top and does not reflect the kind of campaign that we are running. Tennesseans deserve better and we are grateful the ad is no longer airing.”

what a ***ing slimeball that guy is.

It had everything to do with race. The 30-second ad had 25 seconds of BS from uninteresting characters to mask the 5 seconds that the sexy (white) girl was there, flirting with Harold Ford. The message was "Lock up your white women, Harold Ford is coming for them." Are you really telling me that you paid the slightest bit of attention to any other points being made by any of the other people in that ad?

And no, it was an RNC ad.

He seems like a textbook example of a moderate to me.

No it was from the RNC.

...and yet, the ad hasn't been removed. Surely the RNC would comply with the candidates wishes if he felt the ad was too sleazy.

(But if you maintain that there was nothing offensive about the ad, why do you think Bob Corker would be calling for its removal anyway?)

Watch the damn ad. It clearly says at the end "The Republican National Committee is responsible for the content of this ad."

That's not the ad I'm talking about and you know it. Nice try though.

Watch the damn ad. It clearly says at the end "The Republican National Committee is responsible for the content of this ad."

where does Corker say "And I approve this message"

?

not that the add has anything to do with race anyway.

LMAO. some people simply want to make everything about race. It absolutely NEVER CROSSED MY MIND that the add had anything at all to do with race.

And no, it was an RNC ad.

so if I find you some tacky DNC adds you will agree that Jr. is responsible?

He seems like a textbook example of a moderate to me.

LOL.....im sure thats the plan.

so at the end, he says "Im Bob Corker and I approve this message" ?

No it was from the RNC.

so again, any add I find you from the DNC on this race, you will admit Jr. approves of it?

...and yet, the ad hasn't been removed. Surely the RNC would comply with the candidates wishes if he felt the ad was too sleazy.

why would you possibly say such a thing?

You have hear similarly that Ford agreed such adds should be pulled I suppose?

(But if you maintain that there was nothing offensive about the ad, why do you think Bob Corker would be calling for its removal anyway?)

the add you posted a link to is in no way offensive. period. Corker has called for the removal of negative adds, I showed you a link to his site. its there in black and white.

That was the obvious message. The white woman was the only interesting character in the ad...and they couldn't even resist having her make a curtain call at the end.

ProudAmerican said:

Absolutely. The national committees won't run ads that the candidates themselves don't like.

ProudAmerican said:

Why don't you think he's a moderate

Yes, Ford was complaining about this ad and said that it should be removed.

If Corker himself thought the RNC ad was over the top, why do *you* think it was perfectly innocuous?

lol. ok man. I suppose anyone can make anything about race when it suits them politically.

Absolutely. The national committees won't run ads that the candidates themselves don't like.

I disagree. but its good to know you think the negative adds run by the left are supported by Jr.

Why don't you think he's a moderate

because of where I live, and his families political history. also, the left is wising up in this country. they know they cant win on the policies of Kerry, Pelosi and the like. they need to sneak in a "moderate" so they can further their cause.

No it says that the RNC is responsible.

at least we agree on something.

Yes, Ford was complaining about this ad and said that it should be removed.

I was unaware of that.

If Corker himself thought the RNC ad was over the top (which I haven't seen any substantiation for yet), why do *you* think it was perfectly innocuous?

I cant speak for Corker, or anyone else. most likely, Corker is playing politics and catering to people such as yourself, who want to bring race into play when it simply isnt there.

if thats the case, it doesnt speak well of him. a person should stand on his convictions and not cater to the politically correct element in our society.

I will say it again.....RACE NEVER ENTERED MY MIND THE FIRST TIME I SAW THAT ADD.

Is that really what you think when you see that ad? That Ford is an uppity negro? Amazing. BTW it's not a Corker ad.

ProudAmerican said:
by your standards, here is an add that Ford Jr. approves of and supports.

Yes he probably does approve of it and support it (or at least acquiesce to it), or it would be pulled.

But there's a distinction to be drawn between a standard negative ad (like this one), and a negative ad that appeals to the most disgusting, basest instincts of people (like the one I mentioned).

Personally I don't like negative advertisements at all, but this ad is considerably less offensive than the other one.

The ad really brings a hidden racism in you? I assume you are talking racisim.
