According to Forbes’ staff writer Avik S. A. Roy , “...a party that willingly places Donald Trump at the top of the ticket has relinquished its claim to the allegiance of principled conservatives.”

The author's statement is silly when one realizes “The Donald” exemplifies the principles of 21st century rank-and-file conservatives. Trump soared to the top of the polls riding the right wing’s hatred of non-whites, non-Christians, and the working poor, coupled with the right’s xenophobia, homophobia, and other political and religious based psychoses.

The GOP establishment has no one to blame but themselves for this seemingly "sudden evolution” of their voting base. It started fifty years ago when Republican politicians began selling their loyalty to the corporatists while at the same time launching Nixon’s “Southern Strategy. In the years since, Republicans have pandered to the religious right using issues such as abortion, same sex marriage, and opposition to scientific facts.

The GOP establishment and their corporate sponsors spent decades laying the foundation for Donald Trump’s take-over of their Republican voting base. But the GOP establishment is finally beginning to realize that it really doesn’t matter if Trump, Cruz, Kasich, or any other Republican politician becomes president. His first duty is to make certain the fat cat’s wealth continues to grow as the middle class dies and poverty proliferates due to low wage jobs. That is the single most important principle of 21st century conservatism.

History, GOP policies, facts, statistics, and events all confirm this, and will continue to do so after Trump is elected POTUS, despite all of the usual right wing denial.

This is all just code-speak.

It just means all the far right fringe are now pissed that Trump took out both of their poster children -- Rubio and Cruz.

21st century rank-and-file conservatives. Trump soared to the top of the polls riding the right wing’s hatred of non-whites, non-Christians, and the working poor, coupled with the right’s xenophobia, homophobia, and other political and religious based psychoses.

'Conservative' and 'right wing' are not synonymous either with each other, nor with any of the insults you've listed.

They haven't been a "conservative" party for some time.
