i pose this question mainly for people that are in or have been in the military, be it active, guard are reserve, but every one feel free to answer. i just ask that once you post you say either what your military status is, or that your a civilian. also i would like to hear the reason you are against the war or for it.

i vote for the war, i am prior service army ive been out 3 years I'm joining the guard as soon as my paper work goes through and am planning on going back active once ive finished my training for my new mos, probably MP. i am for the war because i believe it is a good cause bringing democracy to a country that was living under a murderous tyrant. i believe that it would be wrong for us to pull out now before the Iraqi people can defend their self because i think the insurgents would just run over the fledging government and corruption would run rampent and instead of having a democracy it would be the new Afghanistan.

retired military. Better to draw them into the fray on their home turf and kill as many of them as possible.

the reason i ask to post weather your military or civilian is because i want the people that are anti-war, anti-bush, to see that are troops support this war. if their agents it so be it, but don't try and act like you are speaking for our troops we can talk for our selfs. don't say bring our troops home, their over their dieing for nothing, because they know what their dieing for. don't pretend you have their interests at hand, because all you have is an agenda, DON'T MAKE US PART OF IT.

Highschool student against the war. I actually had ambitions to join the navy because my grandpa was in the navy (he was involved in the cuban missle crisis) but joining the military, I now realize, means that I might end up fighting a war that I do not agree with.

Not all troops support the war but your right. Most military are usually conservative. I have to say you did a very good job of making me try and feel guilty but sorry it won't work. I am against the war and I don't care if every single american soldier called me a traitor to my country. I stand by what I believe in.

my point isn't to try and change some ones minds about the war, every one has their right to be for are against what they choose. but the Dem's and the libs allways make it a point to talk about bring our troops, we don't want them dieing, when the truth is the troops believe in what their fighting for and their their standing up for what they believe. the Dem's and the libs just want us to bring the troops home because it serves an agenda, is we withdraw our troops Iraq will collapse and be worse than when we went in, than they can say see bush was wrong vote Dem.

I'm former military and grew up as an Air Force brat.

I'm against the war. We could've done far more by breaking up the Middle Eastern schools that teach hate to the young and are financed by the Suadis.

I cannot support a war when our Commander in Chief picks and chooses only the intelligence he wants to use to justify war, and then ignores the advice of his generals and doesn't give our troops the manpower and equipment to get the job done.

Iran is the real problem...and here we are stuck in Iraq, spending billions each month and losing over 1900 of our best...for what? Meanwhile Iran thumbs their nose at us and says..."Were building nuclear weapons, funding the terrorists, funneling them into Iraq, and harboring Al Queda....what are you gonna do about it?"

Im with you on some of that. But you need to start somewhere. As far as not having what we need. Look, for over 2years of occupation weve only lost 1900. I think that is pretty good numbers compared to the occupation of vietnam. So stop whining on that.

what are you gonna do about it?"
I have an answer and not very many people will like it but it is the answer to this whole problem. Nuke 'em. What about the innocent? Well what about them? I think they made it quite clear in iran and in saudi that they despise america. And besides who needs the ME anyway? We have hybrids and other technology we dont need fossil fuels. This will also help our pocket books dramaitcally. Heres the rule you give the counrty a ultimadum. You either hand over every single terrorist you know or start crunching down on them or we will nuke you simple as that. I am sure that will make some heads roll. And you do the same to korea.

It will pallute the earth you say? Nuclear winter? Those are all myths. They are opinions that could might happen we dont know for sure. The earth cleanses itself. Global warming never existed casue the earth cleanses itself. I am a smarter more logical man than most to understand simplicities. If the earth didnt cleanse itself then we would have polluted it already and we would already have nuclear winter due to the amount of testings and other palluted things weve done.

I really hope your joking but I don't think you are.
There is so much I want to say about this post that I can't say here but this is exactly what I'm afraid of.

Do you guys want him to speak for you? Those that are in the armed forces? This is the type of thinking that will bring about the end of civillization. I have been saying it for such a long time and you can see living proof of it in his post.

Shall we just dismiss all scientific evidence as an "opinion" and just do whatever we want? That will be the beginning of the end for us.

I didn't want to answer Skilmatic's post because anyone who advocates dropping an atomic weapon is beyond understanding.

Sorry, Skilmatic, but nuking Iran would increase our problems ten-fold.

I fully support the war in Iraq......I'm retired military.....I volunteered for duty in Vietnam because I believed it was a noble cause to stop the spread of communism if we could. I did not agree with the way the war was fought by McNammara and his band of nitwits who sat aound a big table drinking coffee while they decided how many AF pilots they would kill that day through stupid targeting.....but this is for another day.

The War in Iraq was the next step after Afghanistan simply because we could not afford to let al Queda move to Iraq and set up training bases just as Zargawi did in Northern Iraq. Yes, I know all about the flawed thinking that says Saddam would never agree with the tactics of bin Laden but they could unite against a common enemy......the USA. We could not allow that to happen

I also agree that there is a great need to support and help create governments that will allow self determination in the middle east. Their form of democracy will not look like ours......but allowing people to vote on their leaders and to have influence over their destiny is a worthwhile objective. Bush has that vision and he has three more years to make it work.......I think he will be vindicated before his term is up.

I must support the war in Iraq and the other actions that Bush is taking because I would have responded in exactly the same manner, and would probably have made the same mistakes........consequences of a war of any magnitude can never be predicted with any certainty, therefore mistakes are inevitable.

What are you even talking about? I never onced said I spoke for anyone and to advocate such idiocies is well idiotic. I beleive I clearly stated that it was just my personal opinion not facts. So get over yourself.

This is the type of thinking that will bring about the end of civillization.
Your right, thats the whole idea. Bringing down the civilization of terrorism. I think we all can agree with that assessment.

I have been saying it for such a long time and you can see living proof of it in his post.
Again what are you even talking about? Please conprehend what I said.

Shall we just dismiss all scientific evidence as an "opinion"
When did I say this? Please stop putting words into peoples mouths I dont appreciate it. No but you can dismiss some. And global warming is just a theory not a fact much like evolution(its just theories). Sorry to burst your bubble.

That will be the beginning of the end for us.
Well this will be for the terrorists not us.

Sorry, Skilmatic, but nuking Iran would increase our problems ten-fold.
Who said anything about just nuking iran? I meant the whole ME. We cant argue that the craddle of terrorist civilization is in the ME. If we can either get those gov to surrender every known terrorist and to start hunting them down this problem will be solved but until america grows their hiroshima balls again we will never win this war. Thats a fact. We have too many pussies in this world to stand up for what is right becasue thei afriad what the minority will say. Just look at our border issue. Politicians are such pussies becaseu they dont want to be called a racist for shuting down the borders. All this nonsense needs to stop.

I think its a fair deal we gave japan the same option back in WW2. I dont see no difference from now. Do we either keep invading till this terrorist threat is paralyzed or do we drop one bomb and its done and over with? I think its common sense from here. Its up to you people to attain it. Good luck

Are you out of your mind? There are people living in America who are from the middle east. I know some who have family there.

The answer is simple: Do the right ****ing thing.

Your not going to try and whipe out an entire part of our Earth just because you have a problem with the people living there. Not every single person living in the middle east is a terrorist.

Killing billions of people so we can be safe is absolutely insane. Nobody will thank us for that and I mean NO ONE.

Yes but they arent terrorists. And if they are which I know some here are we will en\ventually find them and they cant hurt america casue in order to do that they need funding. And if the craddle of funding is destroyed then guess who cant hurt america? You got it, the people who are already here cant hurt america. So again problem solved.

The answer is simple: Do the right ****ing thing.
Your absolutley right. Nuke them, if they dont coerce. Now if they do then of course we dont nuke em. But instead we should put troops on the ground to aid their effort. Now am I being unfair here? If your gonna hurt my people they will be dealt with in the most severity. This is for our own good. The only bad thing is no one can get any oil which is good. Cause it will help mother earth out as well. So the enviornmentalist and the people all around the world will be safe and they will thank us for it later once they see. Time heals my friend.

True I cant argue with that statement. Now if we know of people who love america and thers proof of it then we grant them visas so they and their families dont get hurt.

Its not about having a problem its about the safety for you and all people of the world. If thats so bad then I am sorry. The ME has never contributed to the world at all becasue of their radicalism. Iraq will now finally be a exception. But we still have grave problems in alot of other countries that need to be dealt with.

Yes of course. Why haven't the environmentalists thought of this before? Nuke all the oil fields! What an ingenious solution.

I don't care as much about my safety as I do about the fact that we would end up commiting the worst mass murder in the history of the world.
