I think it depends on the person. I know some very progressive women who absolutely adore mothers day.
 
FOR, of course!

Having a wonderful mother (and father) is the key to one becoming a good human being.

Personally, I wish that I had never been born into this vale of tears, but since I was, I was lucky to have had the best mother in the world, a feeling that many other people in the world have about their beloved mother.

Socio-politics will be forcing Mother's Day on many women who would prefer not.
 
I always enjoyed congratulating Mom on Mother's Day. I still congratulate my ex-wife. And remind my son to do the same.

Sadly there are people who are against mothers day. Actually it could be used as proof there are not be enough abortions.
If a child grows up with no respect for the mother, that is a poor reflection on one, the other or both.
