Travis Justin, a Navy veteran and leader of “Draft Beto 2020,” a group that is urging Texas representative Beto O’Rourke to seek presidential election, apparently first posted the video to Twitter. “Recently discovered footage from 1988 reveals a shirtless Bernie Sanders with his wife, Jane, on their honeymoon in the USSR, drunkenly singing ‘This Land Is Your Land’ with a group of presumed Soviets,” Justin captioned the clip, which was surfaced by another Sanders detractor on Twitter.

Oh well there's an earth-shaker and no doubt. All you right-whingers who have been feeling antsy about Trump must be feeling easy and grateful now a 30-year-old vid of Bernie Sanders drunk can be laid before the world.
Uh, remind me, why does anything about Bernie Sanders matter? I know it must or you wouldn't have posted it, but the specifics escapes me.

It reads as incredibly desperate, especially in the wake of news the Trump white house has sent furloughed civil servants looking for evidence of duct tape along the Mexican border to support Trump's latest hallucination!

This is a preview of what the new candidates face. Don't think for a minute that the democrats have the market cornered on Kavenaughing people. Only decency and common sense prevented it prior to the Kavenaugh hearings. Now it's here. Live with it. ****ting on me might make you feel better, but it won't help you one bit. The dox'ing, real or make believed has become acceptable news. "We lie, you try to survive".

The democrats are going to be using this to kill Bernie in the crib so he doesn't mount a viable challenge to whomever they choose to run. And even if it is not Bernie, whoever it is going to be Kavenaughed to hell and back, and they are probably all ready putting together dirt on Schultz. Harris is already toast and she is just fundraising off her candidacy.

During the Kavenaugh hearings while you cheered, I warned you this would happen. And now it begins. Oh, the video might be faked? Who cares? Let's listen to the choir: "He'd have done it anyway!" It will be the operating truth for months before the forensics are done deciding if it's fake or not.

So rock on. My point is made. It is happening to you, and it will only get worse.

And no. I don't think it's a good thing. I don't believe in government by payback. But like a hangover, it has to run it's course before people things go both ways.

That video was fun. It reminded me of Peace Corps days, and it somehow made me like Bernie even more.

By the way, do you know how hard it is to sit with Russians and not drink?

As mayor of Burlington, Sanders visited Burlington's sister city, Yaroslavl, at which time some Russians surely sat him down and then told him, "We cannot leave any open bottle unfinished. It's just not how we roll up in here."

And then, if these Russians are like the Russians that I knew, they quickly opened a half-dozen bottles and began giving speeches.

So, Bernie went to Russia and ended up doing something that will probably make most of us like him more.

. . . Oh. Is this a thing because some conservatives think that it is illegal for Americans to talk to Russians?

That's it, isn't it.

. . . Or even better, some conservatives think that the USSR was after kompromat--of the mayor of Burlington.

Singing songs with Russians does not make him a Russian asset. Real assets do things like try to remove Russian sanctions, side with Putin against the U.S. intelligence agencies, threaten to get out of NATO, and give away secret information to the Russian spies he invites to the oval office. You know like Trump does.
