Florida reported a daily average of 1,393 coronavirus cases as of Friday, six per 100,000, which was a two percent decrease over the last two weeks.

DeSantis Press Secretary Christina Pushaw told Fox News Digital about the case levels in Florida. "He’s always made decisions based on the data and that continued even during the Delta surge this summer what he realized would help was not mask mandates in school or lockdowns but provide treatment that actually works."
"He opened the 25 state-supported monoclonal antibody sites and provided that treatment all over the state free of charge to over 150,000 Floridians, saved thousands of lives, and that happened starting in August," Pushaw added. "Since then our cases are down by over 95% with no restrictions on people's freedom."

Pushaw said she "hopes" that the states like Michigan and Minnesota who are experiencing a surge in cases will "learn from Florida's experience" and promote treatments that work as opposed to lockdowns which "we've seen time and time again" do not.

all summer Biden and the Dems were saying "lead of get our of the way" with their calls for masks and vaxx mandates for Florida.
Few mentioned mono-clonal antibodies. Biden only mentioned that therapeutic 1 time as he restricted supplies to Florida

DeSantis has held firm on no vaxx or mask mandates anymore for kids in school.
Kids have been in school since last fall, and lockdowns were just that first time

All of which was attacked by Dems as the reasons Florida got hit with a 4th wave last summer
Desantis said "the virus is seasonal" and I think he's correct in that we can vaxx and mask or not but COVID gonna mutate and variate

Don't you just know the democrats are unhappy. Wonder if they will congratulate DeSantis for a job well done?

Dear Florida,

I hear you're missing COVID. Miss me not, for I shall visit thy shores and inflict hell upon thee as my brethren did before.

Sincerely,
Omicron Variant

look at the case rate per 100,000k that have been down to 2.5%.. From Fox link: the claim is
The Sunshine State reported a daily average of 1,393 coronavirus cases as of Friday, six per 100,000, which was a two percent decrease over the last two weeks.
look at the individual counties with very low rates of 0.3 etc. the is some kind of lags but the raw data pears to be there.
Beyond that i dont know
The wider political point is DeSantis handled the spread without crippling our economy with an influx of population ( Floida population growth is booming) keeping the schools open, and protecting the nursing homes. AND building out drop in sites for monoclonal antibodies.

Bidens answer is to blame DeSantis for not enforcing mandates. and restricting mono-clonals by keeping some in reserve

I heard of a case that came from Egypt to Europe. It appears to be less virulent, but too early to say
