Floridians .... Gov. Ron DeSantis is directly taking money out of your home budget here with his nonsensical veto of federal funds that would have lowered your electric bill.

Aren't you tired of this assclown?

The funds come with strings. They didnt like them.

DeSantis seems to be on the wrong side of everything.

No wonder Republicans pick him.

I am convinced that DeSantis is having to do all this, gone way too far with the anti-anything that may even have a hint of a Democratic plan behind it that he is willing to harm his own to make a point with a base he is trying to take from Trump.

It's sad how stupid so many of 'his own' seem to be. He's turning down funds that (perhaps) could be used for disaster relief and homeowners, since almost no one will insure FL homes anymore at reasonable cost.

And red state voters keep voting for them anyway, because we're at the point in our politics when ideology and political identity have overtaken everything else. Biden and the Democrats could probably offer to give every household free solar panels and massive tax credits for EV cars and red state governors would probably find ways to call it socialism and veto it, and MAGA/DeSantis/Ramaswamy voters would find ways to rationalize it. Actually getting something good from the government is bad if it comes from Democrats.

What strings are you referring to? Please explain.
I saw no mention of strings unless you consider helping the residents of florida strings. Republicans don't 'do' they undo. They don't give to their base, they take away.

Strings my arse, hatred is more like it. Why would a governor turn down federal monies?

It is getting to the point that DeSantis acts more like Orban than Orban.

Oddly, or maybe not, just a week or two ago DeSantis signed a bill that prevents disclosure of his travel costs and destinations. Floridians are able to see quarterly expenditures, I think, but they are not itemized. The point is Floridians have little knowledge of how their tax dollars are being spent where their governor is concerned. In fact, aside from public events, it is now illegal for the public to know who visits the governors office.

We can bet big money DeSantis and his wife are living in high cotton wherever they may be with plenty of cool air.

There's always more to the story. No one just rejects money for no reason. Post the fine print, and let's have a looky.

Until someone posts the fine print or "strings", then the assumption that there were none remains the most likely case.

No, because the money came from the government. There are always rules and conditions.

The rules and conditions are all available to the public.

There isn't secret legislation.

Find the strings and inform us.
