Five killed after gunman opens fire in Utah mall. 13/02/2007. ABC News Online

Five people have been killed after a gunman opened fire in a crowded Salt Lake City shopping mall, police say.

Salt Lake City police spokeswoman Robin Snyder said the unidentified gunman had shot five people dead, but she would not give precise details on victims or injuries
....US state of Utah began about 8:45pm on Monday (12:45pm AEDT on Tuesday) at the Trolley Square mall in the downtown area, witnesses said.
.

Please post updates on the race and religion of this murderer--the name is Solomon Tolovich (sp?)--Is that a Muslim or Jewish first name and last?

In other news: In Philadelphia, police said a man fatally shot three men at a business meeting before exchanging fire with police and committing suicide. Shootings leave at least 10 dead in U.S. - Yahoo! Canada News
Any news on this also on religion and race? These deaths don't look good if done by non-muslims---it takes the attention and problem off the war on terror. Post troops in the mall.

I'm sorry, but what exactly do the race or religion of the gunman have to do with this? From what I've heard the shooter was a teenager.

So far, by most news accounts, the shooter was a human being.

And by most accounts he was a Muslim so use your deductive reasoning skills to determine why he just started killing people in the mall, 10-1 it is because he was an Islamic Fascist POS.

Why would you even assume that when it didn't even mention it in the article? He was a teenager and he was wearing a trench coat which sounds more like Columbine than anything. Your deductive reasoning sounds more like racism to me.

They are talking about it all over the news that he's a Muslim. And don't fuc/k with me buddy Islam isn't a race.

Well then you're getting false reports, because this was not a human being it was a ****ing animal.

Yes, I know it makes one seem passionate and almost even poetic to liken a killer to an animal, but he is still a human being. Not everthing can be oversimplified like that.

Using my deductive skills, I arrived at the conclusion that the teenager was some sort of gun-nut! Probably the son of a r-wing extremist rascist skinhead who was member of the NRA no doubt.

His name is Sulejmen Talovic, that definately sounds Muslim to me.

His name is Sulejmen Talovic, that definately sounds Muslim to me.

The way a his name sounds is hardly enough to judge whether or not the guy is Muslim. Even if he were Muslim what exactly does that have to do with anything? I know you and your ilk would like to think that every Muslim in the world is out to get you and this is how you justify your hatred and racism, but not everything is as simplified as you would like to believe. Could it not be that if this kid was Muslim that he was driven to his actions because of the way he was treated for being a Muslim by people like you? I'm not saying that this would justify his actions, but you have to think things through a bit more before you jump to conclusions.

He's Bosnian I'm fairly positive he's a Muslim.

Even if he were Muslim what exactly does that have to do with anything?

We are now at war with radical Islam, this is like saying what does the fact that AQ is Muslim have to do with anything?

Ya I'm fairly positive he's Muslim now it's confirmed that he's a Bosnian immigrant.

Theres no definate link between being bosnian and being a muslim

[QOUTE]Bosnians are a multi-religious as much as multi-ethnic society but this is not to say that its component religions and ethnicities are homogeneous and independent from each other.

According to Tone Bringa, an author and anthropologist, in respect to Bosnia and Bosnians she states that "Neither Bosniak, nor Croat, nor Serb identities can be fully understood with reference only to Islam or Christianity respectively but have to be considered in a specific Bosnian context that has resulted in a shared history and locality among Bosnians of Islamic as well as Christian backgrounds." According to Bringa, in Bosnia there is a singular, “trans-ethnic culture” that encompassed each ethnicity and makes different faiths, including Christianity and Islam, “synergistically interdependent”. [2]

A common anthropological trait present among many Bosnians that resulted from influence of religion on history in Bosnia and Herzegovina and which was continually evident among some Bosnians even today is also a preference for mythological method of knowledge transfer. Knowledge transfer was very much dependent on oral tradition given that early Bosnian Church was not well organised, and even where it was, there were not many written testaments left to the posterity to learn from. As a result collective memory of many historical events among Bosnians in absence of factual information have become the “facts” of collective memory which are not always in line with historical facts.

Still large numbers of Bosnians are secular which is a trend that has more profoundly found root in last 60 years in Bosnia and Herzegovina as they were part of the Communist system that rejected, but tolerated, religion.[/QUOTE]

Assuming you are correct than the only logical conclusion is that the insurgents are here, in America, on our soil.

Now, it is also safe to conclude that President Bush has miserably failed the American people again.

President Bush, if you remember correctly, assured all Americans that he took the war on terrorism to Iraq so that the terrorists would not bring their terrorism to our country's shores.

Wrong!

Enter Utah!

That's why I said "fairly sure," but his name does sound Islamic, and he's from Bosnia which is a Muslim Majority nation, so I think it's a pretty safe bet.

Whats explicitly muslim about the name? sounds like your average eastern european surname to me.

Get off the medication please. Next you'll be screaming Timothy McVeigh was a muslim.
