Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A U.S. Navy ship entered the Black Sea over the weekend for the first time since Russia seized three Ukrainian vessels there last year.

The amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry passed through Turkey's Dardenalles Strait on Sunday, arriving in the Black Sea on Monday, whose border is shared by Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria.

Another good move by our Navy, continuing to assert freedom of navigation in international waters. The Black Sea has been tense since Russia seized Ukranian naval vessels said to be operating inside their national boundary.

And now Ukraine will do some more agitating, then we will see.

Long term however the waters around Crimea will be controlled by China's junior partner Russia.....this ship has sailed.

I think you have it backwards, russia is far more militarily powerful than china even if economically weaker, they are both in alliance but you seem to underestimate which one is the miltary powerhouse and which one relies on scraps from russia to develope their military equipment.
