Why can't we just follow the law? We have immigration laws, if you don't like them contact your congressman and tell them to fix it. My family has numerous members who are descendants of immigrants, legal immigrants. If you are a democrat, progressive, moderate, whatever, your members have had opportunities to fix this. Whe ACA was passed they controlled both houses and the WH, that's how they got ACA passed. They could have just as easily passed new immigration laws, they chose not to do so. The problem can be fixed but illegal immigration should not be encouraged nor supported with a single penny of federal dollars in any way. IMO.

Everyone knows money is fungible. Which simply means money diverted for one use can be replaced by federal funds for another use. This happens all the time. If the states got less federal funding, they would very likely spend less on providing illegals with services they can't get through federal dollars. The federal dollars allow this to happen. The bigger problem is illegals in the country getting benefits, such as free public schooling and programs that go with it. While this seems to be a charitable endeavor, just as free hospital care, all must be paid for by someone. These practices encourage more illegal immigration and that's a problem and it's against our law.
