Brewster Buffalo Series Pt 7: Brewsters vs. the commie Banner Baltic Fleet

"in mid-1942, Finnish squadron LeLv 24, using the Brewster 239 export variant of the Buffalo, was tasked with opposing Soviet naval aviation over the Gulf of Finland. Flying from Karelian bases, the Finnish pilots confronted Moscow aircraft operating out of the naval base at Kronstadt and the surrounding area. Newer Soviet aircraft, including advanced fighters like the Yakovlev Yak series, were appearing to oppose the veteran pilots of LeLv and their Brewster fighters. In addition to the enemy opposition itself, the Finns contended with difficulties in maintaining their American-built fighters, cut off as they were from supplies of replacement parts."

great video , great channel, and yes Free men did great against Moscow ´s Marxist slaves )))

i have a qestion to you , why how Finns (on paper flying the older generation plains ) got 1:40 (?) ratio? how could they dominate Moscow Stalinist pilots so badly ?

In part because they were competing with a number of aircraft that were obsolescent.

Another reason is tactics. Just as with the Flying Tigers they developed defensive tactics.

And they miraculously were able to keep the aircraft flying with minimal supplies.

All and all an incredible story.

Feel the love……

They were tasked with helping the Nazis advance deeper into Russia.....and failed.

They were cut off from replacement parts because they were HELPING the Nazis.

wrong "Finnish air missions were very limited and fighter aircraft .... Old-fashioned and few in numbers,"

agreed: The Finnish Air Force had also revised its tactics; In air combat, the Finns used the more flexible "finger four" formation (four planes split into two pairs, one flying low and the other high, with each plane fighting independently of the others, yet supporting its wingman in combat), which was superior to the Soviet tactic of three fighters flying in a Vic formation. This formation and the credo of Finnish pilots to always attack, no matter the odds, contributed to the failure of Soviet bombers to inflict substantial damage against Finnish positions and population centres.[13]

Finnish fighter pilots often dove into Soviet formations that outnumbered them ten or even twenty times, and Soviet bomber formations became wary of even single Finnish fighters, as they knew the pilot would not let them pass un-noticed. Entire squadrons could disappear on missions over Finland, and those back at their bases in Estonia could only guess at what had happened.[14] On one occasion, the Finnish ace Jorma Kalevi Sarvanto encountered a formation of seven DB-3 bombers on 6 January 1940 and shot down six in just 4 minutes.[2]

good point .

They were tasked with helping ...
wrong as usual , Finnish Air Force grew by 50 percent by the end of the war. Most new aircraft shipments arrived during January 1940.

Your OP talks about 1942.

By 1942 Finland was a firm Nazi ally....which is why they couldn’t get parts from the US, which was at war with the Nazis.

Duh.

I am not wrong on any point.

still increase ,
The Finnish Air Force (Ilmavoimat) had 235 aircraft in July 1941 and 384 by September 1944, despite losses. Even with the increase in aircraft, the air force was constantly outnumbered by the Soviets hordes .[83]
[84]

ps
The Finnish Air Force did not bomb any civilian targets during either war.
Curiously, overflying Soviet towns and bases was also forbidden, as to avoid any unneeded provocations and to spare equipment.

The Finnish Air Force shot down 1,621 Soviet aircraft while losing 210 of its own aircraft during the Continuation War.[10]

The Finnish military engaged in ethnic cleansing throughout Karelia during their war alongside the Nazis.

“The camps were intended to hold camp detainees for future exchange with the Finnic population from the rest of Russia. The mortality rate of civilians in the camps was high due to famine and disease: by some estimates, 4279 civilians died in these camps, meaning a rough mortality rate of 17%.[5]”

The Finns were fighting alongside the Nazis. That’s what the Continuation War was.

prove that Finns had more up to date fighter aircraft than Moscow barbaric agressors

Moscow had no aircraft. Are you speaking of the USSR?

USSR had i-16 monoplanes and i-15 Biplanes in that area.. The LaGG-3 was new and unpopular. Most MiG-1s were destroyed in Operation Barbarossa.

Oh, BTW. Do you want MONGOL ORIENTAL DESPOTISM JUCHI ULU rule back in Siberia?

... Do you want MONGOL ORIENTAL DESPOTISM JUCHI ULU rule back in Siberia?
Sakha, Tyva , Chukotka and Khabarovsk republics (like they did in 20s) will adapt our Democratic from of Governance, they know how criminal , useless the Mongol despotic form of governance

Looks like Finns provided the Hilton Hotels for Marxist Moscow gang members , compere with this numbers : "According to the Soviet archives, 54,400 Italian prisoners of war reached the Soviet prisoner camps alive; 44,315 prisoners (over 81%) died in captivity inside the camps, most of them in the winter of 1943. " any comment on this ?

The fact that you think killing seventeen percent of the civilians populace is a-okay is utterly pathetic.

But it’s all good, the Soviets crushed your Nazi heroes in the end anyway and the Finns wound up having to beg for mercy.

You have zero evidence of that. Sakha, Tyva are MONGOL lands taken by the RUSSIANS.

Chukotka chose to be part of the RUSSIAN Empire.

Khabarovsk used to be Chinese.

You failed so so badly , old man buy a book , can you ?

https://www.rbth.com/history/326465-wild-east-russia-vs-chukchi-war

Nobody chose to be part of the crap hole, would you chose it ? resonantly with your family ? be a Moscow´s poor , oppressed, dying from hunger slave ?

Poor Litwin.

Realizing that the Chukchi could not easily be subjugated by military means, the Russians changed tactics and offered the Chukchi citizenship in the Russian Empire. A peace treaty was concluded in 1778 in which the Chukchi were exempted from paying yasak.

Why say stupid things Litwin?
