How about A Guide for the Perplexed? It is basically a guide to traditional philosophy and shows the similarities that exist between the views of east and west.
Cannot say that I have. I will have to add it to my already daunting reading list.

It is excellent. His Small is Beautiful is brilliant as well. A Guide for the Perplexed is the metaphysical and philosophical underpinnings for that more political and social work.
