'Fifth Column' tactics were used in the Spanish Civil War. Four columns of soldiers were deployed to fight in four different military manners. The 'fifth column' defines the backstabbers and enemy sympathizers. The modern day version of this 'Fifth Column' would be the liberal contingent here in the United States.
When a Democrat is tried for treason or for leaking classified material--he is considered a 'Whistleblower' of the truth. When a Republican is tried or indicted for leaking classified material--he is considered a criminal before the trial has even begun.
Benidict Arnold would be the Democrat's poster boy for their modern day 'Whistleblower'.
Mary McCarthy has in fact leaked treasonous material as a member of the CIA. John Kerry says he is glad she leaked the truth. Kerry, a traitor himself is contemplating another run at the presidency.
In the old days, Mary McCarthy would have recieved a minimum of 10 to 20 years for treason...depending on the severity of her crime. Considering that she leaked this material during the time of war--one would only hope that they'll uphold the full extension of the law by executing her.
