The former president told the Mexican newspaper La Jornada that there were moments of great injustice against the gay community.

"If someone is responsible, it's me," he said.

In the 1960s and 70s, many homosexuals in Cuba were fired, imprisoned or sent to "re-education camps".

Ah yes, the great Communist Utopian society, that is not so Utopian after all. I'm glad to see Castro taking responsibility for what he did, but the damage is done. Turns out that, in some ways, Cuba is not unlike Iran, the old Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, or even.....

Fred Phelps and his minions, which is why we must pay extraordinary attention to what is going on in our own back yard, so that there won't ever be a chance of us becoming like them. Democracy is not something that just comes along and plops down in our laps. It must constantly be fought for, lest we one day lose it.

Why did you mention Phelps?

Why did you mention Phelps?

Because given any kind of power Phelps, or one of his followers would do the same. And we must not let ourselves be influenced by someone filled with that much discrimination, and hate. Or we become dangerously close to losing our freedom.

So what about the millions of other Cuban citizens you've had killed, mutilated, and raped.....eh Fidel?

Looks like someone gets it. :)

Yup, and you can tell a system by the fruits it bears. The fruits of Communism have been seen, and they are rotten, which means that Communism itself is rotten.

Many, many, many Christian leaders have condemned Phelps and his actions. The Bapitist organization he claims to be a part of has distanced itself by removing them from the organization.
