Just when you thought nothing more could happen after the Foley scandal, the FBI is now investigating Kolbe for possible inappropriate activity with pages he took on a camping and rafting trip. While one witness says that he saw nothing inappropriate, another says he saw something:

NBC News interviewed several people who were on the trip, and their accounts vary. One participant, who requested anonymity, said he was uncomfortable with the attention Kolbe paid to one of the former pages. He was "creeped out by it," he said, adding that there was a lot of "fawning, petting and touching" on the teenager's arms, shoulders and back by Kolbe.

Unlike Foley, Kolbe may well be innocent, but coming right on the heels of the Foley debacle, this could very well be the final nail in the GOP political coffin, for now. This could not have come at a worse time for the Republican Party.

Haven't you heard?

It's ok, whether Kolbe inappropriately touched the pages or not it doesn't matter, it doesnt count according to many Republicans, you see, Gerry Studds did the same thing or worse, not to mention Barney Frank, hell, Ted Kennedy killed a young girl for God's sake so whatever Kolbe did or did not do, whatever sex crime Foley committed, it's all irrelevent!

And just for the future's sake, whatever future crimes the Republicans commit, whatever scandals, whatever murders, it's ok, it's alright because some Democrat probably did it too.

You almost understand.....but not quite.

You see, it's NOT OK. We don't believe it's OK.

Therefore, we'd like to know why it WAS OK (in your view) for Stubbs, Frank and Kennedy.

He never will understand..

(You see, it's NOT OK. We don't believe it's OK.)

We expect our representatives to act in a moral manner at all times while they are in office, one could hope that their behavior to be above reproach at all times, but, I guess this would be wishing for the impossible?

(Therefore, we'd like to know why it WAS OK for Stubbs, Frank and Kennedy.)

It was not ok for the above persons, it will never be OK for such as these to behave in an inappropriate manner.

They get away with it because the electorate insist on voting the party line across the board. this saves them time and means that they are incapable of serious thought which is why politicians have nothing but contempt for them.

Jesus Christ--you all cannot accept any negativity of someone in your party, so you HAVE to bring up something of the other party. How desperate can you get???

Yes, we do accept the negativity. That's why we abhor what Foley did. We want to know how the left can choose to be so hypocritical in this area. If it's not OK for Foley (which indeed it isn't), then why was it OK for the others? There there, aps, I know the truth stings. But I was just clearing things up for kidrocks.

Not necessarily all the time, at least I don't... but let's see... in this thread and a couple of other threads, you have KidRocks saying... well, this guy is a child molester, he's gay, he watches porn & he's a Republican... therefore, all Republicans are child molesters, gay & loves porn...

It's intellectually dishonest and what I say is... REPUBLICANS AREN'T THE ONLY ONES DOING IT DAMMIT!!!!!! Therefore, don't throw stones, you might hit the walls in your glass house, too....

There's a lot of hatred of people in different parties on this board.... sad... very, very sad....

You are above the fray, reagan. CurrentAffairs, however, is not.

I wonder why you keep editing your posts? Actually, on second thought, I don't care. You're not interesting enough for me to care about what makes you tick.

There is no story here, if anyone bothered to read the article..........

"NBC also interviewed the two former pages, who are now in their late 20s. One of them said that Kolbe was a gentleman and never acted in an improper fashion. He recalled that the pair spent time in Kolbe's house at one point — and briefly were alone with him on the trip — and that Kolbe always acted professionally and decently.

The other would not comment on Kolbe's behavior during the trip or characterize it in any way.

"I don't want to get into the details," he said. "I just don't want to get into this... because I might possibly be considered for a job in the administration."

However, the former page — who is the one to whom Kolbe allegedly paid special attention — said he had a "blast" on the trip and did not report anything improper to his parents or any House officials after the trip. He said he has a favorable impression of the page program to this day and likes Kolbe."

Actually, there IS a story there, but not the one most Democrats would like to see. The story is how the GOP can suffer, even though the FBI investigation will probably clear Kolbe, because the Foley story is already way out there. That is unfortunate, but it is a story.

It's pathetic that this is getting news. This is, simply put, gay-bashing and nothing more. If Kolbe were straight and married, this wouldn't even make headlines.

So far, the majority of people on the trip (including the person who was alleged to have been 'touched fawningly') have all come forward and said that absolutely nothing happened. An unnamed source says "things were creepy." Which sounds more credible?
