Federal employees turn to food banks to feed their families during shutdown

Isn't her shutdown. Donnie took ownership in front of the cameras.....

Does not matter what Trump said. As long as Nancy Dementia refuses to negotiate with Trunp, it's her shutdown.

She can't end anything when McConnell won't allow a Senate vote.

McConnell is perfectly willing to allow a Senate vote if he gets a bill that the president will sign.

The President said that he would be glad to own the shut down.

Why are people working really hard to take the blame that he wanted away from him?

Which part of "Nancy owns it as long as she refuses to negotiate" do you not understand? Trump is willing to discuss and compromise.

You never hear them whine about the EPA shutting down a job.

Get back to us when EPA forces hundreds of thousands of people to continue working without getting paid on time.

"I am Proud to shut down the Government"
-President Donald J Trump

It is strange that one would want to take that pride away. It looks like he wants to own it. We should let him.

The democrats own it as they will not negotiate with Trump on the issue at all.

Trump’s not negotiating. With him, it’s always been, gimmee, gimmee, gimme, my way or the highway, something for nothing. He’s like the kids I sometimes see in the supermarket who throw a loud temper tantrum when Mommy refuses to buy the chocolate milk they want.

Yes, McConnell is such an agreeable patriot who never puts party above country.

As for Trump the problem with getting him to sign any bill is that he forgets the purpose of the bill. He NEVER understands the ramifications of any given bill. Everyday someone is required to remind him what happened the day before and how he is supposed to feel about it and/or he checks in with Fox News and Rush Limbaugh who will explain to him what he should do.

Even McConnell knows that at the last second Trump may refuse to sign a bill that he has agreed to sign.

Finally, we all know that with officials and dignitaries and the press gathered with Trump to witness him signing a bill that he has agreed to sign Trump may suddenly get up and wander off forgetting what he was doing in the first place. We all know that happens. We have all seen it happen more than once.

How do we feel sorry for people who don't plan ahead, and/or who line up to take what they don't need? I mean "commodities" handed out to the "poor".
It was free cheese and peanut butter from a neighbor who took it even tho they didn't even like it. We didn't like it either, especially the Peanut Butter that came from India. You could see the bug parts in it....
We trashed it. The neighbor had a house valued at $300k and a new Toyota Avalon, and a motorhome, all paid for. They had lots of money in savings but their income was low, so they qualified for free stuff. Find out where the distribution point is in your town and you will see food being loaded into new cars.

Couldn’t someone be a sly dog and write language in a bill that at first glance appears to give trump his wall yet the bill’s fine print contained language preventing any funding of said wall?

Yep. The democrats vastly overplayed their hand regarding the Kavanaugh nomination and likely failed to gain control of the US Senate because of that. They are now vastly overplaying their hand in regards to the shutdown over border wall funding. Their problem is that they are so used to republicans caving on any and every issue in fear if democrats even utter the words: "government shutdown". They did not exepct a fight.
Yup the one trick donkey has a problem when that one trick fails

Just so Americans don't forget who owns this shutdown.....

As long as he is willing to negotiate...and she is not...it's her shutdown to end.

Maybe Pelosi should just end it then

It's not Madam Speaker, it's Mitch. He's the one who can end it. You know that. Is he willing to stand up to the Presidunce or is he against those who work for us?

Outstanding! :lamo

I love it!

That 2018 House Blue Wave was not elected to cave into Trumps demand for his vanity wall. Let Trump collect his $5.6 billion from Mexico City.

Hey, elections have consequences. That's what you Trumpers have told me for two years.

Yes they do, but they dont necessarily overturn the consequences of the prior election. In 2010, Republicans were swept into office in a massive red wave on the promise to end Obamacare. Obama put a stop to that by refusing to sign anything that didnt fully fund his 'vanity project.' To get bills passed, congress and the president have to agree. Right now they dont.

No, Pelosi can end it tomorrow.

As long as he is willing to negotiate...and she is not...it's her shutdown to end.

A year ago, there was a bipartisan bill that gave $25 billion for the wall over ten years that the President said he would accept and would have passed right up to the moment that the President decided he didn’t like the deal.

The history of this didn’t start on Jan 3.

Yes, but she can end it. You understand that, right?

You understand that Trump could end it? He could agree to open the government, and negotiate border security. Ann Coulter advises against that. He chooses Ann Coulter over 60% of the American population.
This is Trump's shutdown. I know you'd like to share , but um, no. ;)

Nonsense. McConnell will put a bill from her on the floor if it is something the president will sign. If Pelosi and Trump sat in a room together and came up with a compromise they could both live with, McConnell would hold a vote. Pelosi can end this tomorrow. She doesnt want to.

Please outline the details of Trump's compromise? That would be very interesting.

The nomination of Kavanaugh had zero to do with the outcome of Senate elections. Do try to keep up. The particular Senate seats up in 2018 were overwhelmingly going GOP, due to Geography.

Nancy doesn't care. She's just pissed she can't get the taxpayers to pay for her 7-day international vacation.

The right wants american taxpayers to pay for mexico's wall but you have a problem with taxpayers paying for what is part of her job? Strange.

They were also okay with Hillary's talk of putting coal miners out of business.

Coal miners should be put out of business. It must be a horror to raise a child with the intention of sending him down into a coal mine. It is a dying industry. Those people should be retrained and given a real opportunity to have a good life in America. Dying early to produce a fossil fuel that is deadly to the environment is not a good career choice.
