Deputy Hacks at Suspect With Riot Shield During LA Protest
Sat, September 26, 2020, 2:01 AM PDT

An officer in riot gear repeatedly slammed their plastic shield up and down while they and other officers worked to subdue men on the ground during protests in Los Angeles, California, on September 25 over the police killing of Breonna Taylor. This video shows the confrontation on Sunset Boulevard. According to reports, the sheriff’s department responded to the protests.Video from another angle showed deputies inspecting a flat-bed truck with a number of people in the back. As the people started to flee the truck, officers tackled or knocked some to the ground. One officer is seen striking a downed protester with a shield. Later the officer is seen chopping forcefully with the shield towards the person on the ground. This video shows the confrontation from a nearby parked car. Afterwards, officers line up next to the car with an assortment of non-lethal weapons, pointing down the street. The video ends abruptly as an officer turns their attention on the uploader

They are lucky they were not shot

Will the people who play the "do you condemn" game when the subject is violence against the police going to play it here?

🤔

At any rate, utterly disgusting abuse of the citizenry by government agents. Every real American should be outraged. But then a whole lot of us seem to wish this was North Korea or Russia, stupidly thinking such a change would mean the government would finally *get* their political enemies, never coming for them.....

Most cops are trump supporters. What do you expect?

Much ado about nothing ...

Yeah, who cares if a government agent merciless beats a civilian? This is North Korea after all. The citizen should be thankful for the government's mercy.

while the poor quality video shows no specific clarity or cause of the situation I
believe a reasonable assumption can be made...
someone made a conscious decision to walk in harms way and discovered
the results of that decision.
The video quality is poor. We could be seeing the demise of a rabid rat for all that vid shows.

Theres nothing that justifies a police officer using a 15 pound plexiglass shield to repeatedly bring it down on a subdued suspect surrounded and pinned by 20-30 cops. They assumed all the cameras were gone and thought they could get away with it.

If I were to slam a 15 pound slate of plexiglass like that at your head or neck it would be attempted murder. If I hit you with that same shield in your arms or legs or body it would be attempted maiming.

Pinned down by 20-30 cops ?!
15 pound shield ?!
Subdued ?
Obviously the recipient of the treatment made a conscious decision to be where and partake in activities that put himself in harms way. He alone is responsible
for his situation.

As I told another, The guy chose to walk in harms way and learned the result of his action.

I said surrounded and pinned. How many cops did you see in that camera? It was a whole wave of deputized federal troops. Of course 40 people cant pin 1 man that would be physically impossible and the 30-40 refers to how many cops are in that area to ONE suspect, whom they are beating the shit out of with a 15 pound shield.

The person should not have made the decision that was made .. to walk in harms way. His free choice; His free responsibility.

I don't think the problem he has is with consequences, but that being maimed by shield is one of them.

Thought had by person at the White House: If you can remember, man, woman, car, camera, TV, you are fit to lead a country and no one has anything to worry about

It's the recipient's fault? Since when did we start allowing police to be jury and executioner?

Like that guy in the wheelchair on the side wondering if it's worth it to ask for help from one of those officers. He might turn out like the old man they pushed down in NY and split his skull. I guess it was the old man's fault for walking on the sidewalk to you.
This is what the world sees when they see America.

The aggression of American police officers is going beyond necessity, and that's a problem. We arrest more people than any other country, and that's a problem.

Trump making it political is also a problem. Itś becoming police against 1/2 of liberal America. Trump is only the leader of the Trumpers, those who agree with his every move, not America. America contains liberals and he's let us know plenty of times he's not our president.

Hopefully come January, we get a president for all of America again.

Looks like a mostly peaceful arrest to me.

The protest was declared an unlawful assembly, notice was given to disperse which means EVERYONE has a duty to disperse and not remain in the area, and when they refuse force will be used to disperse them, or arrest them.

So what is so hard about that to figure out? Maybe some of these rioting protestors should read the penal codes in the jurisdictions they are rioting at so they understand the possible outcomes.

Yeah, who cares if a government agent merciless beats a civilian?

They don't beat innocent civilians, but they may beat rioters and anarchist criminals. Poke a hornets nest and you may get stung.

Most of these anarchist rioters never got a spanking from mommy and daddy is the problem. And why in the F--- are a-holes protesting about Breonna Taylor in Los Angeles anyway? Some stupid woman who got her dumb a-- killed because she was involved in illegal drug activity.

Who but a fool cares about Breonna Taylor?

That is some sound authoritarian philosophy right there. Do what we say or we will beat you!

It is not that at all. How about the rioters stop breaking the law, and then the police won't be out enforcing the law so forcefully. You people continue to deny the fact that these are not peaceful protests. So yeah, the law say NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT, and then it the job of the police to enforce it.

Show me where anyone is allowed to just do what they want to irrespective of the law?

Sell it elsewhere.

Rapists and Cops, two groups who blame the victim 100% of the time. And just like every rapist, the cops always have supporters among the right.

Your flippant answer exemplifies what is wrong with the Blue Lives matter crowd to a tee.
