This is good and hopefully this silly law gets overturned completely. Kids should be informed about the actual state of cultural affairs in this country instead of having that truth be hidden from them.

You know it's bad when two of the three judges blocking DeSantis were traitor trump appointed.

Unfortunately, DeSantis got what he wanted regardless. He found a way to own the libs and throw red meat to his base.

Politicians keep getting rewarded for performance artistry…

Exactly... DeSantis supporters are instant gratification types... Once he signed the law they went on to the new shiny object..

It doesn't matter puts the woke lunatics on the defensive for once. Thats the point.

Good to see DeSantis control agenda stopped in the courts yet again. How any fair minded person could look at that law and see it as anything other thsn wanting to control thought and speech is mind blowing. This in university for goodness sake !

You are correct... Those who support this kind of bullshit are not interested in EDUCATING kids, merely cheap political points... No worries... Kids learn in many places, school being just one of them... They learn who the assholes are pretty quickly... In a decade or so they will be voting on what kind of medicare nursing home you stay in...

Putting the opponent "on the defensive" usually calls for something better than throwing them an easy interception lol.
We shall see. If they are state paid for schools then the state has a say in what the curriculum is. May not be the interception you think.

And the students have FIRST AMENDMENT rights... As demonstrated here, the federal courts are happy to slap down state legislatures that didn't learn basic constitutional rights...

Whats makes you think I will be in a Medicare home? Kinda a moot point if the government dont have the money. I dont plan on having any Medicare or social security because the government wont be able to pay for it anyhow. I will be on my own. The way the banks are currently crumbling I suspect that day may be sooner than I expected.

Then you are even more screwed... Those PRIVATE nursing homes can REJECT any ASSHOLE they want... LMAO.....

The state has the gold, they makes the rules. If students attend state schools they get the education the state chooses. They can go to a private school if they want.

You understanding of the law and constitution is amusing... That's a pretty funny argument in a thread where a state just got their ass handed to them in federal court for PRECISELY the same argument...

Make sure your shit can take a financial beating. If it cant.... the weather be looking kinda ugly. Just saying. Better prepared than not. You do know social security is bad version of a Ponzi scheme right? It will crash eventually.

I'm not worried. Conservatives are just making hay out of this to try and get some political advantage.

Its got ways to go. It not over yet.

What on earth are you talking about? The law was suppressing discussion, not a course. Besides, which do you understand the ramifications of what you are saying? Do you really want State controlled curriculums? Like Russia and China....the government dictating what can be taught?

I dont care either, but I planned for no Medicare and no social security. If I get it fine. Whatever. If not, dont need it anyhow. I am not relying on lying skunks to deliver something I may need. To hell with that noise.

States already do. In grade schools and the universities paid for by them. There are state mandates on all sorts of public education. Thats what happens when something is run by the state. Its also why my children never attended a state school for education purposes just extracurriculars.

Sadly, there is a huge element of truth in the end or this comment. Politicians, up to and certainly including the president, now do what they want without a thought to legality and/or constitutionality. They just do it (sometimes even with an announcement of the unlikelihood of courts holding it up) and let the lawsuits begin. Court processes take time and, meanwhile, illegal/unconstitutional practices become ingrained in society, sometimes at enormous monetary cost and societal damage.
Each side cheers and justifies the illegal and unconstitutional actions of their side and go crazy about those of the other. That's where we've arrived.
