"Legislators targeted in five locations as part of ‘pending investigation’"

The FBI has just raided offices of several lawmakers in Alaska. They include:

Sen. John Cowdery, R-Anchorage, the Senate Rules Committee chairman.
Ben Stevens, R-Anchorage
Rep. Vic Kohring, R-Wasilla
Rep. Bruce Weyhrauch, R-Juneau
Sen. Donald Olson, D-Nome
Rep. Pete Kott, R-Eagle River

At issue is corruption with VECO Corp., an Anchorage-based oil field services and construction company whose executives are major contributors to political campaigns.

This looks pretty serious.

Article is here.

Note: Before you Dems start crowing about "culture of corruption", please take note that one of your own is included.

What a fatuous remark.
You nor I have any idea as to what the FBI suspects, but immediately you not only decide that corruption is the reason, but you also name folks who could be innocent of any wrongdoing.

Why don't you just relax and let the FBI get on with whatever they are doing.

If you really want to start some type of discussion, why not wait to see if anyone is going to be indicted for anything.

And even then they are to be presumed innocent.

Only a jury in a trial can find them guilty of any crime unless they plead guilty.

Not to nitpick, but trial by jury is a right that can be waived.

Considering the stupidity quotient of 12 americans who can't escape jury duty, one is probably better off having one's case heard by a Judge.

In a bench trial , the judge can find you guilty :)

Jeez, I remember you going after Jefferson under the exact same circumstances. What a hypocrite.

To clarify, most (all?) of these people are State Legislators, not federal, correct?

Although I do know that Ben Stevens is Ted's son...there's another one who needs to get tossed out...ugh.
