FBI Director Wray says half of bureau’s 5,000 counterintelligence cases are related to China | Fox News

FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday warned Americans that the Chinese government’s theft of American information is taking place on so large a scale, suspected incidents make up nearly half of his bureau’s counterintelligence cases.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Hudson Institute in Washington, Wray said that Chinese thefts amount to “one of the largest transfers of wealth in human history,” and that the American people are the victims.

“If you’re an American adult, it is more likely than not that China has stolen your personal data,” he said.
As an example, Wray noted that in 2014 Chinese hackers stole more than 21 million records from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

The US should be absolutely livid with China right now on multiple fronts. What they continue to do is worthy of an act of war.

And yet, the vast majority of the American media and politicians just turn and look the other way with virtually no interest.

Why?

This seems to be an expansion of the RNC memo to 'blame china for the corona virus' . In addition, let's make claims about counter intelligence and bring it up as often as possible (and focus on China, and deflect from Russia).

The hudson institute is a right wing think tank. I am not sure that it won't let it's biases get in the way of reality.

I dont believe Wray. He is one of if not the biggest blunder by Trump. China is robbing us blind but he can find manpower to investigate overzealous parents bending the rules to get their children into ivy league schools. He apparently has no time to track down any of the peaceful rioters and he has no time to do any house cleaning. Wray is whats wrong with this country.

To be fair, you can't trust China or Russia. Putin is yearning for the glory days of the KGB, he's a straight up killer. Xi is just a privileged commie doing what privileged commies do...steal.

We should be livid with China and Russia, we should be wary of the two of them, we should be moving away from them. Maybe the next President will.

It was never 'Russia! Russia! Russia!' (although they certainly aren't 'good actors' on the world stage).
It should have been 'China! China! China!'

It would certainly be in China's best interests, and further their economic, academic, and technological warfare advances to have all the pressure and US sanctions lifted.

China is the new Russia.

That is right. However, the method of delivery of that information suggests a diversionary tactic that falls in line with the leaked RNC memo about 'blame china'. I am doubting the release of that information, and the timing of the release of that informaton.

Some politicians just cannot help kissing China's ass:

Jan. 22, Twitter:

“One of the many great things about our just signed giant Trade Deal with China is that it will bring both the USA & China closer together in so many other ways. Terrific working with President Xi, a man who truly loves his country. Much more to come!”

Jan. 24, Twitter:

“China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

Jan. 29, Remarks at signing ceremony for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement:

“And, honestly, I think, as tough as this negotiation was, I think our relationship with China now might be the best it's been in a long, long time. And now it's reciprocal. Before, we were being ripped off badly. Now we have a reciprocal relationship, maybe even better than reciprocal for us.”

Feb. 7, Remarks at North Carolina Opportunity Now Summit in Charlotte, N.C.:

"I just spoke to President Xi last night, and, you know, we're working on the — the problem, the virus. It's a — it's a very tough situation. But I think he's going to handle it. I think he's handled it really well. We're helping wherever we can."

Feb. 7, Twitter:

“Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days … Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!

Jan. 29: “Just received a briefing on the Coronavirus in China from all of our GREAT agencies, who are also working closely with China. We will continue to monitor the ongoing developments. We have the best experts anywhere in the world, and they are on top of it 24/7!”

Jan. 30: “We think we have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five. And those people are all recuperating successfully. But we’re working very closely with China and other countries, and we think it’s going to have a very good ending for it. So that I can assure you.”

Feb. 7: “Nothing is easy, but [Chinese President Xi Jinping] … will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone.”

Feb. 27: “Only a very small number in U.S., & China numbers look to be going down. All countries working well together!”

“He’s now president for life, president for life. And he’s great,” Trump said, according to audio of excerpts of Trump’s remarks at a closed-door fundraiser in Florida aired by CNN. “And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot someday,” Trump said to cheers and applause from supporters.

.During the remarks, Trump praised Xi as “a great gentleman” and added: “He’s the most powerful (Chinese) president in a hundred years.” Trump said Xi had treated him “tremendously well” during his visit in November.

Almost half a century ago, the West launched a gambit against the socialist bloc and China, in particular.
The West's goals were to play on the contradictions between the USSR and China, buy cheap chinese labor for pennies, and solve its own macroeconomic problems(curbing inflation through cheap imports).
The goal of China then was to force the country out of poverty at the expense of Nixon's proposed "Marshall plan". As a victim, China had to work hard for 30 years on financial capitalism almost for a "thank you". But the chinese calculation worked for a long time - the West himself brought its own money and technology to China.
The Chinese calculation on the suicidal greed of gentlemen was correct - first low-tech production was transferred to Asia, and then high-tech. The West has no one to blame but itself, its own greed. It doesn't matter what Trump says now.
Trump himself emerged as the long-cherished dream of isolationists to reclaim their technological base from China. But it turn out to be impossible. Companies are repatriating profits home, and jobs that they are trying to return to the West are immediately replaced by robots and automation - 30 years have passed.
Trump started trade wars against China, realizing the failure of the previous strategy to export the technological base from China.

As a result, the West has drained itself of blood. By its own greed. "The capitalist will sell the rope on which he knows he will be hanged"
The mole of history digs slowly, but digs well. (c)Hegel
