This is what happens when you put all your faith in an enormous, tyrannical Leviathan government. To quote Benny Franklin: "Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety".
This is also a consequence of placing unqualified clowns in important positions of responsibility.

The lead from your dumbass article...

The alleged shooter was turned in by his family and roommates while the surveillance state remained clueless.

Clueless? Hell, law enforcement knew what kind of car the suspect drove. Tell me, how many gray Dodge Challengers do you think are in that area...or even in the entire state of Utah? Not many, and you KNOW law enforcement was going to check on all of them. The only thing the suspect's family did was save law enforcement a lot of time and effort.

The only ones clueless here are Reason Magazine and anyone who believes their nonsense.

Citizens helping police solve crimes is an inherent part of crime prevention and arrests being made. This is the underlying tactic of the 'defund the police' movement, to create a huge divide between citizens and police undermining trust, which expands crime.

Patel's handling of the matter was totally and completely unprofessional. His speech was nothing more than political pandering and his misstep on the announcement of the apprehension of a suspect was just more amateur hour performance from an inept administration.

"Moments before officials on the scene of the shooting in Orem, Utah, briefed the press on Wednesday, Patel announced on social media that the person responsible for the shooting was in custody. That claim was quickly contradicted by local officials, leading to hours of confusion before the FBI clarified that two people had been questioned and then released following the incident."
"White House source, granted anonymity to discuss internal discussions, called Patel's announcement unprofessional and said "his performance is really not acceptable to the White House or the American public" and will be addressed."

To say nothing of his "Valhalla comment yesterday. Patel isn't exactly being the most professional about a political assassination. I'm not going to include the detaining of two suspects during the investigation but this is why we need professionalism at the FBI.

I'm not interested in following the efforts of Trump haters who will take advantage of every/any tragedy to attack the Trump administration.

Bye.

Seems like amateur hour over there with the Valhalla comment as well as telling the suspect they had shoe imprints so he could get rid of them. Patel belongs on a podcast and not leading the FBI. Good thing the family turned him in.

The guy was caught in 33 hours. Spin it all you want. That's pretty damned good.

Immediately got proven wrong and immediately bows out.

You confuse the trained professionals of the FBI and local LE with the clown with mic.

You wouldn't congratulate Patel if he found Jimmy Hoffa. But, I do find it very interesting how racist the left are.

Baseless speculation by Reason and borderline on out and out lying

See you all in Valhalla!
While everyone on earth is fighting, and going to war with each other, a very confused Evangelical Christian, Charlie Kirk, is standing at the bow of a ship in Valhalla, desperately looking for land.
