Fauci thrown under the bus

Everyone is sick of this little twerp even democrats. He really just needs to STFU.

“ Obviously the judiciary has an important role to play," White House COVID Coordinator Ashish Jha said on Sunday’s "State of the Union." "What you heard out of the administration, out of the Department of Justice, is the assessment that this is an incorrect decision and the DOJ is now appealing this decision."

Speak for yourself.

Trump should have shut him up when he had the chance, then.

Back when Trump was screwing over his vendors and investors and lying to the courts about this casino bust-outs, Fauci was already a internationally recognized health professional in charge of projects credited with saving millions of lives.

I'm confused about why people are angry at him.

Can you explain, I literally haven't been paying attention.
sounds like a you problem.

“The CDC will abide by the order of the court because it’s a legal obligation,” Fauci added, “but one of the problems we have there is the principle of a court overruling a public health judgement … is disturbing in the precedent that it might send.”

If fauci wanted to make "public health judgments", he should have become a judge.

He is in the position of speaking to health issues.

It is literally his one job.

speaking? lol indeed!

speaking =/= deciding, and for good reason. His expertise is in one aspect of a pandemic, the health aspect. Not the social aspect, or the economic or risk aspect. That's why we leave these decisions to people who weigh all arguments, sides, and risks of each decision. Not him.

You want the judiciary making medical decisions?

Really?

I mean it is strictly true that under the text of the constitution the courts are inferior to the other two branches and should never be able to make a decision overriding an elected arm of government, but it’s the lefties that opened that door with nonsense rulings like Brown and Roe.

"Those people" (including Trump) empowered Fauci.

And the notion that lawyers should be more involved in health policy than doctors is just laughable on it's face.

Legislators should be involved, but they also need to know when to STFU and get of of the way.

Careful...your fascism is showing.
It’s anti fascism. Like de-nazification in Germany. The people who brought us harmful and ineffective rules should be banned from public office.

Incorrect.

Locking someone up for no real crime is a fascist tactic.
Imposing extralegal orders like masking and social distancing is in fact a crime. And it should be punished.

Your opinion on what are and are not harmful rules does not mean he should be locked up unless you support fascism.

CDC is not an elected arm of government, it's a government bureaucracy.

It's not about policy it's about the power to mandate instead of advise.

Any power Fauci has was granted to him legally, and he served at the pleasure of several presidents.

Somehow that b@stard was just never awful enough to get the boot, including under Trump.

Yes lets have political hacks making all our health care decisions in the future. What could go wrong with that?

That's exactly what will happen if righties take Congress and the White House.

Not to be a judge, no they didn't. no one did that. And you heard the man himself, they have a legal obligation to comply, and they will.
And the notion that lawyers should be more involved in health policy than doctors is just laughable on it's face.
Well, i never said that. That's just a strawman, and I don't play that.
Legislators should be involved, but they also need to know when to STFU and get of of the way.
Well, what is more fitting for a legislator than deciding policy? In this case, a judge, but separation of powers and all that....

You're playing word games. No one is claiming Fauci has the powers of a judge. He has been empowered to make judgements and set policy on health topics.

If you think that, I see why you're confused. Judges don't decide policy, they determine if the policy is within existing law. And legislators DO decide policy, but typically have no relevant medical knowledge, so they defer to actual experts like Fauci and lend their power to them.

There was a time when that made sense to everyone as a way of getting things done, but now apparently the only true experts on anything are politicians.
