No I live in reality. You don't.
Maybe you should check your own source.

Final cost for 2 years: $29,180
University of Phoenix:
$22,100 for an AD
Cost of Bachelors Degree at University of Phoenix is $56,900. $34,800 for years 3 and 4 plus $22,100 for years 1 and 2, or $56,900
Kaplan University:

The trend follows for each subsequent college listed. Like I said college is more than what you had to pay.

Its better than living on minimum wage.
You know what? Even though I deeply disagree with your worldview, I can see that you are a principled man and I respect a man of principle. There are a lot of people even in my country and I'm pretty sure especially in America who are quick to blame other people for their own situation like the immigrants.Heh, I too watch those channels solely for comedy relief. And one of my Grandma's sayings was, "freedom also means you're free to starve unless you get off your butt and go to work".
Μολὼν λαβέ;1063283235 said:The reality is that I'm still paying student loans for my second master of science degree, and I'm pretty sure I'm quite a bit older than you. I paid off my first master of science degree from student loans in about ten years. The second one I don't even look at when its paid for, I just make the monthly
payments.
Why? Because its worth it.
How's that for reality?
You?

Believe it or not there was a guy who told me just yesterday that the reason why he is unemployed for 6 years is because of polish people and the muslims taking all the jobs. I was shocked, but that's the kind of entitled people that exist in this world. Happy to sit on their backside on welfare because in their minds it's ok since it's other people's fault.
You didn't post 10k. You posted a proposal that is being discussed. I'm talking about reality not a what if.And again, I just did what you were too lazy to, googled it. Take a real look and you'll find a range from the highs I posted down to 10K. And again, there are community colleges (inexpensive) where you can take your AA.
Btw, college completion has dropped at near the same level as costs and attendance have risen.
it's not reality . First of that is an anecdote. And your experience does not reflect the reality of what the majority of students are experiencing financially. Check the sources I have already provided.

You mean your denial in the face of evidence. It is quite amusing.

Community colleges offer an aa tops, which in turn is sill expensive for low income individuals and the pay off hardly allows them to recover from accumulated debt.
College completion is dropping because people can not afford to complete it. Thank you for making my point.
Cool good for you. To bad your experience is not the same for every one else.Μολὼν λαβέ;1063283328 said:Facts are I have two master of science degrees courtesy of student loans, and a good paying job.
Working on my ge and then I will try to get into my local university. I'm navigating through finance options. There very few. You?
Interesting. You're wrong. But interesting all the same.I'm guessing, based on your posts, that you aren't willing to make the commitments I did to get where I am today.
It's a struggle. I'm often tired. Thanks for asking. How's that minimum wage working for you?
i think online degrees/courses are a sham. they are too easily manipulated to pass a course.
And right after I posted mine, someone else did. Not a what if. Stop thinking that calling your excuses reality excuses you.
Thanks for the anecdote. I have statistics that would make them eat their words. Again there is difference from your experience and the experience of the majority.I've got a few no longer minimum wage earning nephews with community college AAs that would call bull**** on that.
However, a much more common reason is that the cost of tuition becomes an unsustainable burden, with “more than 50 percent of students who fail to graduate the high cost of tuition and fees.”
Source.Sorry Charley, that excuse won't play. It's been dropping steadily since the college system opened up in the mid-60s.

A) I wonder how many of these people are actually fast food workers instead of the usual hired protesters.

One of the biggest protests globally in solidarity with eachother all revolving around raising the minimum wage. I support these protests, and believe not only should the minimum wage but one of the most profitable industires should be paying their employees much much better. Im behind the $15 demand.
The reality is that liberals rather whine than work to succeed. Coming from a single mother with only a HS diploma, my younger brother and I each went to 6 years of college and had our student loans paid off in less than 2 years. Sacrifices included splitting an apartment with a coworker until I met my wife.
There was a raise in 88, 92, and 2002 i believe.mine did not!
What about colleges? Yes they expect better wages. But so do workers that make minimum wage. Inflation and the increase in productivity also should raise the wage..i made the point about college which you didn't address.
The minimum wage was intended to keep up with inflation.... Is that "nothing"?these people want something for nothing.
Excellent post. I agree completely. In my BPO firm we employ a lot of foreign nationals, their pay is much much lower than American minimum wage and they never complain, in fact they are downright happy they got a job.Abolish minimum wage. If these folks were worth more then they'd get the heck out of fast food and go find a job with a better salary.
No that was the initial protest which started the movement which was 2 years ago. Since then it has been spreading. The link is revealing in the lack of details.
It started with 200 people in NYC and spread to about 1000 across the US. Which means it is irrelevant.
When an industry goes on strike most stay at their jobs that does not mean "they seem ok"... Ask any service industry worker if they are ok with their wages I gurantee most will say no. As long as its not to a boss of course...Most fast food workers seem ok with what they make I have seen none on strike anywhere in the city I live in.
Somehow a strike equates socialism... :roll:So much for workers of the world unite. Socialism falls flat again.
