Far-right candidate Laura Loomer wins GOP primary for district that covers Mar-a-Lago - CBS News

Modern day GOP right here folks. For all this talk about Democrats being "radical", you have far right QAnon whack jobs winning GOP primaries left and right, by large margins.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Trump is a symptom, not the cause. These lunatics are what the majority of the GOP base wants. Even if Trump loses this year, there's absolutely no doubt an even worse and far more radical candidate will win the GOP primaries in 2024, because the "moderates" have been completely hallowed out in that party.

If this was the worst you could find about Loomer then I dont know what your definition of far right is... anyone who’s not a BLM rioter?

Lunatic isn’t even the appropriate term, calling Omar anti-Jewish is a statement of fact, and the rest of this is just political activism and not extremist politics

I do not agree with the characterizations but the part is continuing to realign itself at the primary level. This has been going on since 2010. Draining the swamp is a process.
It will be interesting to see if democrats continue to embrace establishment types or continue to embrace AOC types

Of course, you are absolutely right. The question is why and how.

numerous things. Demographic changes is one. Social changes is another. There's always an extreme conservative reaction to "change".

Also, the GOP has been radicalizing their base for years. This was bound to happen eventually. The Obama presidency was the final nail in the coffin, and then enter king birther Donald J. Trump as the new Republican president.

It's obvious that neither you, or the writer of the article actually know what far-right actually means.

Loomer is by definition a far right extremist. Anyway, she's not going to win.
