Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests, according to former law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.

The inquiry carried explosive implications. Counterintelligence investigators had to consider whether the president’s own actions constituted a possible threat to national security. Agents also sought to determine whether Mr. Trump was knowingly working for Russia or had unwittingly fallen under Moscow’s influence.

It's good to know the FBI was aware enough to investigate what was completely obvious to the rest of us.

This is why it is not surprising to me that Mueller might have a report ready by March.

My guess (it is just a guess) is that Mueller's report is not going to be an end all report, but just the beginning. I have a strong feeling that there are several law enforcement agencies already in the loop to bust this thing wide open.

Okay, but the fact that the FBI even had enough cause to open up an investigation like this is unprecedented, don’t you think? Nothing like this has ever occurred. You have to at least admit that. The FBI uncovered enough facts to warrant an actual investigation. What are those facts we don’t know but still a little unnerving considering it’s the POTUS.

That has been the one thing that makes me hesitate about anything related to Russia and Trump.

I am not convinced he is a willing asset. I am also not convinced that the FBI and Mueller really don't know what to do with this. This is new territory, if Trump is indeed an asset.

I have never been one to jump on the "collusion" bandwagon. I often felt that if Trump had any guilt with Russians, it would be money laundering. I am not even willing to believe that he knew what Manafort was doing. Trump may have been wise and savvy decades ago, but now he is just a useful buffoon.
