Extremist republicans

Are you trying to say that there are still some moderate Republicans out there? Wow......

No, I am pointing out that the republican party has moved to the right since Romney care. Oddly, something you seem well aware of ...

I would, personally, like to see the Republicans in the house get extreme. No more raising the cap, no immigration reform until 5 years after the border is secure, no funding for obamafarce-care, no funding for the IRS, dump or kill foreign aid to add to the sequester, and cut funding to he UN, presidents golf / travel budget and order up tours of the white house 24-7!

Maybe some of the 3rd & 4th generation, but not those who still have family in Mexico....
One of my coworkers is an electronic technician where I work, in his 40's. First generation, with family in Mexico. There is a First generation couple that owns a Mexican restaurant in Gresham that I know. These people vote conservative. maybe it's a latitude thing? I could go on. Most the legal immigrants I have ever come across are right leaning, regardless of what country they came from. I also work with an older man from Egypt, know a small business owner from Syria, and a guy from the Ukraine. None of these people are left leaning. These are just some of the immigrants I know, and cannot think of any that are left leaning.

Among the bad thing about the immigrants I have met...

I thing I went to dinner once with the terrorist who worked for Intel... I'm pretty sure he was among a group of people that Intel employees and my company had a get together with when I was working for a manufacturer as an engineering tech.

I know of Republicans who take free stuff, but still vote Republican.....
Why not get back some hard earned tax dollars? I will fight tooth and nail to stop all these subsidies and handouts, but if I fail to stop such programs, it isn't wrong for me to get back some of my money, is it?

Just for the record, I am not republican, but I took the point as being aimed at right leaners vs. left leaners.

What's your point? President Obama won the election and he won it big! You better forget about 2011 and think about 2014....

McCain is a total joke. He is "liberal light." I think Romney could have won if the GOP didn't piss of the independents wanting to see how the convention turned out. But... the GOP changed the rules midstream, pissing off people like me. I loved how Paul was shaking up the party. I would have voted for Romney had the GOP not changed the convention rule. Instead, in protest, I wrote in "Ron Paul." I wonder how many other people who would have voted for Romney did the same thing, or not even bothered voting.

That whole Romneycare thing bothered me. I used to think he was just doing the will of the people of the state. However, once he started defending it...

I'm with you.

Ever thing the elitists will go along with such an idea, or just laugh at us peasants?

Democrats would love this, a tantrum like that would lock in the next election, possibly the next 2.

There's nothing radical about either party in the US. At least not in my opinion

it depends on your definition of radical ... advocating for socialism, as I do, and asume you do, is a radical position in this country ... there are those on the right who would like to take us back to pre-civil rights, pre-women's rights, etc. days ... that's a radical position (although not as radical as the first - after all, we have a guy - Rand Paul - people are taking seriously, who believes that a restaurant owner should be able to deny service to a black individual simply on the basis of the color of her/his skin) ... But, I agree, neither party is radical ... both constitute wings of the Capitalist Party and at the end of the day serve the interests of corporations and the ultra rich .... and false consciousness runs rampant, including on these thyreads ...

What is there about the extremist republicans' hate of the President that they are willing to damage the fabric of the country in order to obstruct what the President wants to do? What is the solution aside from taking them out.

The country doesn't bow to what the President wants, it is supposed to be the other way around. He represents us.

Yes, I am well aware of it...like they say, "it's no longer your father's republican party".

Maybe they "lean" right, but do they "vote" right? You don't really know....

I didn't say it was wrong for anyone to get help when they need it....

I think that Ron Paul got more votes than we will ever know about....

But for what reason do they need the help? That's where I draw the line. I am not for helping people who need it due to their lack of responsibility.

My understanding is that the people of Mass. love Romneycare--it has been very successful....

Maybe so, and something tailored for one state doesn't necessarily work for another. That's one problem with federal mandates.

"Lack of responsibility"? Help comes in many forms--Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps and aid to dependent children.....How many more homeless people do you want to see?

Is it our responsibility to help others that can help themselves?

If that's your mindset, then start a foundation or charity. Gather like minded individuals to contribute, and help them yourself.

Just stay out of my wallet.

With some cooperation, it could work in every state....
No. Different states are different foe several reasons.

Why are you against the 10th amendment?

You are just chock full of compassion.....Have you never in your life needed a helping hand?
