I’m actually not at all surprised. Very often, the most vocal self described “religious” folks end up being the kinkiest. During my teens, I dated a baptist preacher’s daughter. She was far from pure.

That delves right into my theory about conservative sexuality. If there isn't sexual illegalities and sexual no nos... Then their much loved "kink" dies. They want their kink and they need it to be taboo for their kink angle to survive.

Their "taboo" must involve the presence of "getting away with it".
