The F.B.I. is allowing crime to happen! WTF? I sure hope murder and rape is not permitted under this informant program.

This doesn't surprise me one iota. And I don't necessarily have a HUGE issue with it. If the crime is primarily lower end things, to allow the informtant to stay capable of actually informing, that allows us to catch the bigger and more important/dangerous/impactful fish then I can kind of understand it.

Oh my, the FBI is allowing informants to buy drugs...bribe govt officials...kinga like sting operations? Oh, the outrage.

You can't have someone planted on the inside of a criminal organization and expect they will not break the law. I really don't know why this is news. If it told us murder was sanctioned, I'd feel differently. (Murder probably has been sanctioned, I'd venture, but we'll probably not find out about that.)

You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. I was always under the impression our undercovers do this.
