Agreed. And all will ignore the other common feature, that the crime took place in a "gun-free zone."

That gun free zone was supposed to have security to enforce that policy. If a single person armed with a shotgun can defeat your military's security system then you have a bigger problem than gun control laws can ever fix. ;)
