Interesting warping of logic. Because some people need some drugs, that means ALL drugs are good, the more the better. And by the way, most cancer drugs aren't all that wonderful.

Drug has ‘antiparasitic properties that can help prevent COVID-19’

Just one day after the Food and Drug Administration revived its war against COVID-19 treatment ivermectin, disingenuously calling it a “horse dewormer,” Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed a law allowing residents to access the treatment without a prescription.

The FDA’s renewed attacks this week developed when it said the word ivermectin was trending on the newly liberated Twitterverse under Elon Musk.

“Hold your horses, y’all. Ivermectin may be trending, but it still isn’t authorized or approved to treat COVID-19,” Joe Biden’s agenda said.

But on Wednesday, a report from Liberty Counsel confirmed that Lee signed into law a plan making the “award-winning antiviral drug … available for the treatment of COVID-19 without a prescription.”

The state House had adopted the idea 22-6 and the Senate 66-20.

The bill states that a pharmacist can provide Ivermectin to a patient, who is 18 years of age or older. Adults can explain their symptoms to the pharmacist, and the pharmacist can determine the right dosage.

Medical professionals such as Dr. Robert Malone, Dr. Ryan Cole, Dr. Richard Urso, Dr. Pierre Kory, Dr. John Little and many others worked diligently to educate Tennessee lawmakers about this effective drug.

Perhaps you can explain why India, Peru etc., dropped it. I have asked you numerous times, but you seem reluctant to answer. Any reason? Furthermore a pharmacist is not an MD. It is the doctor's job to determine a correct dosage after diagnosing the complaint. A pharmacist's job is to dispense the drug, not to make unqualified assumptions about a person's state of health, their medical history or what dosage they should dispense. A specially trained and qualified pharmacist may prescribe in specific circumstances.

Ivermectin has been shown to neither protect against nor treat COVID.

And there is no "right dosage" for snake oil.

The 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine was awarded to William C. Campbell and Satoshi Ömura for their discoveries leading to Ivermectin. Ivermectin is best known for its antiparasitic properties that can help prevent COVID-19 and is especially effectiveas early treatment. The drug also has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties and studies have shown that ivermectin helps to lower the viral load by inhibiting replication. According to a June 2020 study published in the Antiviral Research Journal, a single dose of Ivermectin can kill 99.8 percent of the virus within 48 hours. A meta-analysis in the American Journal of Therapeutics showed the drug reduced infection by an average of 86 percent when used preventively.

In another study of 115 patients with COVID-19 who received a single dose of Ivermectin, none of them developed pneumonia or cardiovascular complications, while 11.4 percent of those in the control group did. Fewer Ivermectin patients developed respiratory distress, fewer required oxygen, antibiotics and intensive care. Ivermectin-treated patients tested negative in four days instead of 15 and stayed in the hospital nine days on average instead of 15.

I am not an expert on statistics, but I deal a lot with evidence based practice.

It does not take a rocket scientist to understand that if you propose a theory and test it with too few people, you will not get reliable information.

It also does not take a rocket scientist to understand that if all variables are not accounted for you cannot conclude that those variables did not change the outcome.

Here is an evidence of acceptance of bad science.

Early pandemic, we had lots of small studies saying hydroxychloroquine was saving lives of covid patients. Based on the studies people were trying to get their doctors to give them hdcq. We had a forum member proudly stating that she and her family with covid took it - none of them developed severe disease. Upon questioning, she and her family were young and in good health with no risk factors for developing severe disease. At her family's age and health, it was highly unlikely any of them would have suffered severe disease. Yet I was supposed to take that as personal evidence of the efficacy of hdcq.

The funny thing is a lot of these studies were pretty clear that there were potentially an issue. It was the interpretation by some that sucked badly.

Some of us never thought our government was capable of getting tough on border security, but one listener sent me a notice from the FDA’s Division of Northern Border Imports at a Chicago airport showing that her package is being held at customs. No, there are no illicit drugs. The package contained ivermectin, doxycycline, and zinc. All three are being held – even the zinc!

In the Notice of FDA Action, the inspection officials hide behind the fact that Section 801(a) of the FD&C Act gives them authority to go after products made by foreign facilities that aren’t proven to meet their standards. However, we all know that this has nothing to do with concern that somehow the products have manufacturing faults or impurities, but rather a back-door means of banning the FDA-approved ivermectin (and anything else that happens to work to treat COVID).

It is absurd that ivermectin is confiscated by custom in the U.S., which has been approved by FDA for human use for many years. The large pharmaceutical companies are to blame for this war against ivermectin, of course with the help of Biden administration and main stream media bias.

Are we really back here again?
There isn’t a single large placebo controlled study from a reputable institution that show that ivermectin is remotely useful in treating or preventing covid.
If you disagree please provide that kind of study.

Doctors Sue Biden Admin for Unlawfully Blocking Them from Treating COVID-19 Patients with Ivermectin - Slay News

A group of doctors has filed a lawsuit against Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration for unlawfully blocking them from using ivermectin to treat COVID-19.

The suit is filed against the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

It also names HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and FDA Commissioner Robert M. Califf as defendants.

In the filing, plaintiffs Mary Talley Bowden, Paul E. Marik, and Robert L. Apter argue that by publicly ordering health professionals and patients to avoid ivermectin, the FDA both acted outside of its authority.

They say the FDA inhibited the doctors’ ability to practice medicine.

Though the FDA has approved ivermectin to treat certain infections, the department has urged the public not to use the drug to treat COVID-19.

“Attempts by the FDA to influence or intervene in the doctor-patient relationship amount to interference with the practice of medicine, the regulation of which is—and always has been—reserved to states,” the lawsuit said.

Obviously, they do not want people to take inexpensive drugs like ivermectin that work, instead they want them to go hospitals to get treated with expensive drugs from Big Pharma, connected to a ventilator, and if they die from covid, the hospitals get rewarded.
