Evgeny Lebedev: the son of a KGB agent is one of Russia's most important assets in the UK. He is a personal friend of the British Prime Minister, owns some British newspapers, and got a seat in House of Lords on Boris Johnson's initiative, and when MI6 warned the government about Lebedev, the Prime Minister ignored it. Lebedev is known for keeping the Kreml line, has even suggested MI6 was the ones that killed Alexander Litvinenko.

MI6 warned PM about Russian oligarch friend Evgeny Lebedev two years ago

Another of Lebedev's pals, Michale Gove claims no one ever raised any security claims with him (could be true, Gove was never as importants as Johnson, so might just not have been seen as needed, and tbh, Gove was not the one trying to make him a Lord).

No-one raised security concerns over Lord Lebedev with me, says Michael Gove

The dinner Gove is talking about might be that one dinner where Gove "convinced Boris" to become a Leaver, Boris had been a Remainer up to then, so Lebedev was present even then. If one of Putin's agents is so close with the British PM, that he pushes for him to get a seat in the House of Lords despite warnings from MI6, then there is a real security concern to worry about (and no, Evgeny Lebedev has not been hit with any sanctions yet).

It is really insane that they appoint the son of a KGB agent into the House of Lords on a peerage. I wonder how much money he donated to the Tory party.

You are quite a card, OP .
As co-owner of Novaya Gazeta ( which I read daily in English for several years , many years ago), Evgeny is arguably the most vocal Russian critic of Mr P and his swashbuckling Kremlin inner circle .His co owner Gorbachev effectively saved him from an early" misfortune" .

You are just regurgitating MSM nonsense which you have failed to investigate .
You are in the middle of a bad patch, OP , so you must DYOR .

You cannot learn 30 years plus history from reading a MI6 release in three minutes in one of our leading Intelligence Agency controlled papers.

Hysterical Americans must learn that a KGB officer's son simply means , the son of a police officer , in English .
And the KGB disappeared over 30 years ago, to be replaced by the FSB .
Hopeless.
P.S. The editor received the Nobel Peace Prize last year .That's how pally they are with Mr P.
