Everything about the 2023 NFL Draft

This is an update to the first round draft order list:

EDITOR'S NOTE: The Broncos have agreed to send the 29th pick to the Saints as part of the deal for head coach Sean Payton, per NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.

The Saints had previously given up their record-based first round pick to the Eagles along with C.J. Gardner-Johnson, so Denver's midseason Bradley Chubb trade with Miami indirectly put New Orleans back into the first round.

The 29th pick is what Miami traded to Denver for Bradley Chubb after getting it from San Francisco in the Trey Lance trade. Now less than three months after returning to the first round, Denver again does not have a first round pick.

Now that the Super Bowl is over, we can get serious. Bring on the Combine.

Remember when they couldn't do the Combine because of COVID? t already seems long ago.

First things first, look at the top three needs of each team and complete first round draft order:

This information will have a lot to do with who each team decides to interview and work out at the NFL Combine.

Schneider said Wednesday that talks are in their nascent stages regarding draft trades, with most clubs simply getting a feel for what teams hope to do come draft day. The GM noted that the substantive talks don't heat up until next week or after the draft has started.

"Kind of periphery stuff," he said, via the team's official website. "That stuff really gets pretty intense, I'd say next Tuesday, Wednesday. Those are really the two days that people kind of set up broad parameters for moving up, moving back at different spots, and then you have to be really pliable once it starts because if you've moved, you've got to be able to move to the other spots or move up. You have to be ready to roll."

The first boombuster has to be whatever the Jets pay to get Aaron Rodgers, who clearly wants to be a Jet instead of a Packer. But coming from the owner of the #5 pick, you can't rule out the possibility Scheider was talking about himself.

If you want to know anything about the draft, you know where to get that information. If I was not going to France in four days I would watch the NFL draft.

It sucks that the Draft got moved to Thursday. Friday night draft parties were a lot of fun.

You can still have a Friday night draft party. There is nothing to complain about.

NFL Network's live coverage of the 2023 NFL Draft continues with Rounds 2 and 3 on Friday, April 28 at 7:00 PM ET, with Peter Schrager joining Eisen, Jeremiah, Davis, Klatt, Rapoport and Stark.

Nobody has a party for day 2 of the draft. That's like getting worked up for the 3rd place game at the World Cup.

The only thing that matters is you and your friends are having fun. No, it is not comparable to that at all.

How much do you know about second and third round picks greatly exceeding expectations during their careers and seemingly guaranteed first rounders somehow dropping out of the first round? A lot of elite talent is drafted on Friday night every year.

Gronk was a second round pick.

Showtime is tonight. First pick should be at about 7:02 and the last pick about 10:15 KC time.

It's interesting that the Super Bowl champion's city is hosting the draft. We will see how that plays. By all accounts the BarBQ hounds will be out in force.

Also, the Chiefs own the last pick of tonight's round. The rumor is that they will try to trade up like they did last year. If the do, likely partners are Baltimore, Minnesota, Dallas, NYG. Failing that, someone might want to trade into the 1st round to draft Hendon Hooker. The 5th year option on a 1s-round contract can be significant. Up or Down, it's very likely the Chiefs do not pick at #31.

Rumors don't matter if they can't be backed up by facts. Where were the facts supporting any of these rumors before the draft kicked off?
