I was driving in northern Minnesota looking for the headwaters of the Mississippi. It was such bad radio I had to stop the car. (I had been in radio & then television). It wasn't just babble & bullshit...it was BAD radio, the signal was bad, the microphone came out of a cornflakes box. I sat stunned and was startled by a knock on my driver side window...it was a cop wanting to advise me that the ass end of my 300Z was sticking out in the road.
I blamed it on the radio, I turned it up just as the clown (I had never heard of him) went into a tirade of some sort. He said "that would drive me off the road too."

That's it. Me a Minnesota State cop agreeing that a radio show was garbage.

Who to vote for? A lot depends on one’s personal politics. A lot of the left’s policies are totally unacceptable to quite a lot of voters. In our two-party system, the only realistic option is the right or the Republicans. The reverse is also true when the rights policies and agenda become unacceptable. There is a huge amount of folks in the middle between the agenda and politics offered by both major parties. They think both parties now represent the extremes. Who do you vote for if you believe both major parties are made up of extremist? Or as is the case for a lot of swing voters, they support the democrats on some issues, but are against the democrats on others. They also support the GOP on some issues while opposing them on others. Not everyone is a loyal partisan of one or the other party. In fact, Gallup lists independents, the non-affiliated, the less to non-partisans as making up 42% of the electorate today as both major party’s base shrinks.

I think the problem is both parties think everyone should be marching lock step with them with no dissent allowed. It is my opinion both major parties want power, and both want to rule with little to no opposition. Both will do everything possible to gain a political advantage over the other.

I do, however, think a lot of these non-affiliated, the less to non-partisan swing voters have moved toward voting Democratic over the last 6 years. It isn’t that they’re voting for the democrats or their agenda, they’re voting against Trump, Trump’s endorsed candidates and a Trump led party. Even I have moved toward voting Democratic more and more, only because of Trump. It isn’t I support the Democrats, they’re the lesser of two evils in my book. The party I want to lose the least, not win, but lose the least. In short, our two-party system sucks. But that is what it is. I do miss the long ago era when the Democratic Party was the big tent party and not a party of just progressives and ultra-liberalism. But with Trump around, the Democratic Party has become the least worse party. One’s doesn’t vote for anything these days, just against, voting for the party one wants to lose the least, not win, but lose the least.
