According to a British Study even a mild case of Covid is can cause brain damage.

From the article :

During at least the first few months following a coronavirus infection, even mild cases of Covid-19 are associated with subtle tissue damage and accelerated losses in brain regions tied to the sense of smell, as well as a small loss in the brain’s overall volume, a new British study finds.
Having mild Covid is also associated with a cognitive function deficit.

These are the striking findings of the new study led by University of Oxford investigators, one that leading Covid researchers consider particularly important because it is the first study of the disease’s potential impact on the brain that is based on brain scans taken both before and after participants contracted the coronavirus.

“This study design overcomes some of the major limitations of most brain-related studies of Covid-19 to date, which rely on analysis and interpretation at a single time point in people who had Covid-19,” said Dr. Serena S. Spudich, a neurologist at the Yale University School of Medicine, who was not involved in the research.

Or maybe it's the vaccine.

You realize that within the age group studied - even a UTI can cause significant brain changes and declines, correct? It is a fairly common result of infections as people age.

(The study was in 50+ age group)

I saw nothing in the article about the vaccines, whether or not they prevented or mitigated the damage caused by the virus (or worse, actually caused the damage).

One mention about loss of smell suggested the brain damage there was due to "atrophy" - the virus causing the smell receptors to stop working, which could lead to atrophy of the receptors and thus 'damage' to the brain - but that it might be possible that the brain would ultimately heal itself over time.

Sounds like more studies in general are needed to be certain of their findings and/or modify them with new data.

They are interested to see if the damage may be reversible. Here's to hoping it is.

Or maybe it's the vaccine.

Or maybe you're required to post shit that can divide Americans. Deadly disinfo in this case.

Why does an American want to see Americans die? Does the American think Putin is a genius, too?

I've said before that I don't believe this many Americans would want to kill this many Americans. It doesn't make any sense.

Why so emotional? Did the study specifically exclude the vaccine from the possible causes and prove that premise beyond a reasonable doubt? NO? Well that's interesting.

Why did you leap off the high dive into Putin? Couldn't you work in a racist accusation? I mean, it's a thread about long covid, surely you could have called me a nazi to make your overly dramatic post more off topic. Have a Snickers or something.

It doesn't make sense, because you comment doesn't make sense.

Hard for it to be vaccine caused as vaccines weren't in play.

Of course it makes sense. There were a ton of people screaming about not getting vaccinated and how the government forcing it on us and how it was dangerous and how it was killing people and the results of that is that a ton more Americans died than needed to die.

That's like going to hell evil.

you know all those zombie movie and shows where people wonders where the zombie virus came from, well, this could be it :) Definitely enough people infected, even animals

You make no sense, running around flapping your arms claiming that Americans want to kill Americans.

It's stupid and childish, like most of your immature posts.

It's different, though. COVID causes brain damage (and damages other crucial organs, btw) because it damages the vascular system.

Joe Biden must have had serious Covid.

Not different.

Not different.

Right, but UTIs are not generally transmissible - at least not like COVID.

Bacterial illnesses can cause sepsis, so I'm not saying they're benign, but COVID is transmissible, and even in its 'mild' forms, it causes vascular damage and raises the risk of cardiovascular events significantly.

No other disease in modern times has actually lowered our life expectancy. The opioid crisis has, but that's substance abuse/mental health.

Yes they were.

No it wasn't.
Wrong.

Study ran from 3/20 and ended 4/2021. At that point less than a third of the population was vaccinated.

From that you can conclude the overwhelming majority of participants were not vaccinated.

No it’s not.

It’s called freedom of choice. Even the vaccinated have the freedom to stay home if they can not except the risk.
