Are you really trying to tell us that it isn't the philosophy and doctrine that promotes the peace? We can't always control how people act, but we can certainly start with the correct philosophy, can't we? Like promoting peace would be much different religious writings that promote violence. People break their principles all the time, and not just religious ones.

However Holy wars are sanctioned by pretty much all major religions. Crusades, Jihad and Milkhemet Mitzvah to name a few. Religions do promote violence in cases when it suits them, albeit some of the other time they do promote peace. However no major religion abstains from violence of any sort completely 100%

Interesting, but I find the likely commonality to be islam-as in where there is islam these things happen. I dont know about this case, I will have to read up on it.
