Ukrainian officials have put on hold civilian evacuation plans in two besieged cities after reporting firing by Russian troops despite a Moscow claim to have ordered cease-fires around Mariupol and Volnovakha based on mutual agreement to allow humanitarian corridors. Officials in the strategic southern city of Mariupol announced via social media that "due to the fact that the Russian side does not adhere to the cease-fire and has continued shelling both of Mariupol itself and its environs and for security reasons, the evacuation of the civilian population has been postponed." "For security reasons, the evacuation is therefore postponed," Mariupol city authorities said via Telegram. They said talks were continuing with Russia on how to "ensure a safe humanitarian corridor." "We ask all residents of Mariupol to return to their places of refuge," they said. Ukrainian presidential adviser Oleksiy Arestovych echoed that accusation in a televised appearance.

Don't trust these bastards for a second. I remember back in 2015 north of Donetsk at Debaltseve, eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian forces had the separatists on the run. The Kremlin interceeded and sent in regular Russian tank battalions. After a few days, the Ukrainians were encircled. Talks ensued and the Ukrainians were guaranteed a humanitarian corridor out of the cauldron. When the Ukrainians were all in the humanitarian corridor and defenseless, the Russians attacked. It was a slaughter. Over 1,000 Ukrainians were killed. The Russian military does not fight like other major armies. The Russian military has no honor and they ignore the Geneva Conventions. War crimes are normal for them. Don't trust them for a second Mariupol.

This morning I saw a video from Kherson of a Russian soldier using his rifle butt to smash a store window. He exited the store clutching brand new cell phones.

Yes, as in Chechnya, the Russian military and Putin is still rooted in the mentality of WWII - when killing those "nazi's" anything goes. Lots of promises of safe routes, few (if any) ever provided.

Now they've moved on from food to cell phones. Wonder when they will start looting vodka and big screen TV's?

Russia reneging on a deal? Color me shocked.
