INCOMPETENT FOREIGN NURSES have struggled to meet the standards set by the British Nursing and Midwifery Council in order to work in Britain - so the repulsive EU decided to help them by ordering the tests SCRAPPED.

And just to make sure those awful British racists feel the salt in the wound more keenly, nurses here still have to pass the tests to qualify!

Tests on foreign nurses scrapped: EU order means Britain must open NHS jobs to thousands from Eastern Europe | Mail Online

Pete EU may rub his hands at another job well done, but this is yet another nail in Britain's already filled coffin. Already the EU's Working Time Directive has cut back on the time doctors can spend on patients, ensuring that sick rates have increased. Plus the fact the organisation now insists doctors break their hypocratic oath by making doctors and nurses work with foreign colleagues lacking the relevant merit, thus exposing patients to more harm.

If only 270 out of 40,000 could pass the tests then surely the sausage-suckers of the EU should question the standards of these nurses' home colleges, NOT go an another barmy politically-correct 'discrimination' crusade!

Let the court cases come. I'd rather some whingeing Ukranian than a grieving family, suffering due to the bungling of some crap nurse foisted on them by our new perverted masters!

LET'S GET OUT OF THE EU NOW - They LITERALLY cause illness and disease in Britain's hospitals!

One question the article does not answer or even tries to answer.. the test you so want.. was it given to UK nurses as well?

Other than that, more xenophobic racist crap from you.

Yes it does, I mentioned it at the top. So learn to read before barging in with your half-baked playground insults. Pity you don't have more self-control.

You are rubbing your hands at a job well done in a victory for your lowest common denominator politics!

It's far from racist to hold anybody wanting to work as a nurse here to the same standard - indeed, it's what the Tolewance brigade would usually call Equality!

Other than that, more pig-headed over-emotional ego-tripping from you.

Currently, the test is only applied to UK nurses who've been away from nursing for 3 or more years. It will still apply to nurses coming here from beyond the EU borders.

So it is discrimatory. Thank you. All the UK has to do, is apply this test to all nurses who want to practice in the UK, regardless of nationality and there is no problem. As long as they single out people based on nationality then it is discriminating. English nurses abroad have to meet the same requirements as local nurses, not "extra requirements" as this test seems to imply.

Gotta admire that arrogance, flat denial and spitting at somebody else in lieu of argument if nothing else. Pity the lunatics he emulates run the continent now.

There are two ways of saying 'discrimination' - one way is to adopt the howling air-raid siren approach of the left and start howling about waycism. The other, relevant here, is to use the word in its original context of being discerning and aiming for high standards, which is the only true positive discrimination. And our EU overlords certainly do NOT look for quality.

By the bent standards of the EU's race-obsessed 'doublespeak' world, it DOESN'T discriminate because it's not a nationality-based requirement. So the squeaking outrage about xenophobia goes out the window.

But it DOES require nurses away from the job three years to brush up to scratch, along with foreign nurses new to our standards. Which ISN'T waycism, xenophobia or any other of the instant smears designed to stifle debate.

And you still dont get it. It is illegal to have one set of standards for local workers and one for non local workers.. other than language of course. And in this case it is very clear, that the tests that non British nurses and British nurses that have been away for 3+ years is different than the test that British nurses have to go through to get qualified. All 3 sets of people should go through the same tests to get qualified and then there would be no problems.

I 'got it' alright. My concern was purely about the EU wanting to dumb-down our system rather than campaign to get standards raised from those wanting to come from outside the Union.

All 3 sets of people should go through the same tests to get qualified and then there would be no problems.

Now that argument is valid. With some merit too, though I don't know if the exam which students need to pass is tougher than the refresher test. And if it isn't then there ought to be good reason, though the only real 'problems' seem to lie with those who make it their lifestyle to invent them.

Attacking the messenger and howling about xenophobia, on the grounds that foreigners are discriminated against by neutral rules designed to keep standards high, isn't.
