He is only a small part of Europe's political problems. Sure he is one of the fellows responsible for the unbelievable mess their politicians and bureaucrats have brought down on their populations. He should not go into retirement. He should be made liable.

Doesn't he have immunity from prosecution?
So he needs to have that removed before anything can be done.

Anyway. My thoughts on the whole speech was "meh". It's wasn't all that different from what Obama was giving in the US state of the union earlier this year.

he did do wonderful transitions between all the things he cycled through so he must have pretty good speechwriters working for him. Anyway.. all that chatter about how "confidence" is returning and all that... meh, the effects are barely to be seen. Most countries are in recession.
