The EU states that Alexander Lukashenko is not Belarus' legitimate leader. Nevertheless, the Union cannot agree on sanctions against his regime. Shameful, the Swedish minister of Foreign Affairs says. But; wait a minute:

The country blocking the decision was Cyprus. Cyprus demanded that the EU impose sanctions on Turkey at the same time. In recent years, large gas reserves have been discovered in the sea outside Cyprus. Last year, Turkey increased its drilling in the sea west of Cyprus. in mid-August this year Turkey sent the exploration vessel Oruc Reis, backed up by warships, to the disputed waters.

Isn’t it shameful that while EU wants to support the opposition in Belarus they don’t want to give their support to one of their own member countries?

Cyprus is badly infected by Kremlin criminal money, and all expert say that sanctions must target first of all Putin and Moscow´s imperial oil gas industry. With cost of “black gold” at 15-23 dollars per barrel, the USSR economy collapsed, and the sovok itself collapsed, and the "golden" horde ("russia") budget can only be fulfilled only with oil price at $ 42.4 and higher

Belarus is not the problem of Germany, Turkey is.

Merkel is not going to stop Nordstream, she wants it way too much.

Cyprus is blocking the EU is not that surprising. On the one hand it's a good opportunity to bark at Turkey (and Cyprus sure has reasons for that), on the other it gives them an out to not disappoint the rich Russian logarchs with Cypriot bank accounts.
