Christ didn't say anything about homosexuals. Some think he was gay.

The schism broke my heart. I imagine now that other denominations will be sorely tested too and that other schisms will follow.

They don't eschew it more than any other denomination.
Did Jesus say anything about handling venomous snakes to prove one's faith? Apparently, this Christian didn't quite measure up...
Did Jesus mention anything about rolling on the floor like a spastic and spewing gibberish aka speaking in tongues?
Where did Jesus say that everyone who believes in him shall have the gift of prophecy? Don't be late for prophecy conference or you might miss the latest revelation about the end times......and the buffet.

"...After the 2008 nomination of Sarah Palin for Vice President of the United States, senior pastor Ed Kalnins' preaching was scrutinized by the media.[3] His sermons were available on the church website. USA Today reported the Huffington Post assertion that "Kalnins has preached that critics of President Bush will be banished to hell; questioned whether people who voted for Sen. John Kerry in 2004 would be accepted into heaven; and preached that the Sept. 11 attacks and the war in Iraq were part of a world war over Christianity".[4] Kalnins preached "I believe that Alaska is one of the refuge states... in the Last Days, and hundreds of thousands of people are going to come to this state to seek refuge. And the church has to ready to minister to them".[5]

Somehow I don't think any of that is what Jesus had in mind, taught or died for....and I question your authority to speak for him and pass judgment in God's name. I'm pretty sure the bible condemns you for doing it, too.

There is a contingent in the church I grew up in (the Methodists) who are pushing.
If they are successful, then they will follow the path of all Churches who choose to conform to the world and seek the approval of man. A sad thing.
Yes. My best friend is United Methodist and active in her church, and I'm aware that there are tensions among some. To paraphrase the Evangelical Lutheran bishop I cited earlier, "We are not of one mind."
 Christ also didn't say anything about rape or pedophilia. He did define marriage as a union between a man and a woman, and the New Testament is pretty clear on the subject.

There are those who want to split the Church and those who want to "federalize" the issue, and leave it at the local level, rather than at the General Conference level. All those are bad options. If you don't believe with the Methodist Church that strongly... well, you should leave. The Episcopalians need people.
Woah! Jesus defined marriage as between one man and one woman? Are you talking about Matthew 19 wherein he also said that anyone divorces is committing a sex sin and, simultaneously, does not define marriage?
Just leaving may not be a satisfactory option either for lifelong Methodists.
Then they are free to remain Methodists.
It is like if I wanted to remain Catholic, but insisted that in order for me to remain Catholic, the Catholic Church needed to adopt Sola Scriptura and get rid of the Pope (I am not an RCC member, simply using the example). My demands are not only unreasonable (everyone else must change for me), but they also indicate a hypocrisy at play - despite my claims, I do not, in fact, want to be Catholic. I want to be something else and call that Catholic, and make everyone else do so as well.
In fact, His first miracle was performed at a wedding, thus honoring the union of a man and a woman.

They do. But, as has been pointed out, this is a discussion for another thread
Actually, there are 26 bible verses where Jesus said he was the "Son of God". As a Christian, how come you didn't know that? You realize Christ is God, right?
Some are morons, it happens.

If other Christians can judge another for not being real Christians based on their interpretation of the bible, then this is the perfect thread to have that discussion ....and too, you're not a moderator.

Okay, fair enough. We have a forum for that - it's the religious forum. If you want to have the discussion down there, start the thread and quote me, I'll come.
Jesus called himself the Son of Man, He didn't call himself the Son of God 26 times. He did claim to be God, describing himself as the "I Am", describing God as his Father, and not correcting others when they described him as the Son of God or as God.
"Son of God" in the NT
Regardless, His authority is pretty clear when it comes to assigning Gods's picture of how marriage is supposed to function.

Well, I beg to differ nota bene. From the OP...You persist in trying to drag this thread off-topic. The topic is the Episcopal Church voting yes to performing single-sex marriages, not whether "other Christians can judge another for not being real Christians based on their interpretation of the bible" or whether the LDS are Christians or whether a "real Christian" would know the number of Bible verses in which Jesus said He was the Son of God.
BTW, I didn't know the number and don't care. What I do care about is discussing this decision by the Episcopal Church and other mainline denoms that may follow suit.
It looks like some Christians don't see a problem with approving of same sex marriage. I wonder how many will say this just 'proves' Episcopalians aren't 'real' Christians
That's nice. Then maybe you'd like to stick to the stipulated topic in the baiting "speculation" of the OP: Episcopalians and what "others" might be saying about them.
I have to question their religious faith at this point and the fact that they have abandoned God word to make men happy there will be a split in the church and people will leave and the church will drop in attendance.
Paul even wrote against this as well.
