Actually I do. I know that farmers use different techniques today. I was using hyperbole. I'm holding off judgement because it's a draft document, and because dust can be harmful.

If the government had required that farmers in high risk area use soil conservation techniques before the dust bowl began then much of the soil that blew away would've stayed where it was.

You mean like irrigation that wasn't possible then because of the lack of infrastructure?

Hint: The dust bowl was caused by a really bad drought.... what do they teach in school these days? :roll:

The drought was part of it, but what actually caused the dust storms themselves were overgrazing and removal of the native grasses for plowing. This meant there was nothing to hold dirt down so when the high winds came, it kicked up dust storms.
